Overview

Successful public managers understand how to apply leadership and management best practices to the public administration context.  This module introduces both to the student.  The course starts with an overview of what it takes to be a successful leader—specifically, the notion of “self-government” and personal leadership, or “intrapersonal leadership.”  Then, this discussion is applied to the public administration context.  In doing so, you will begin to develop your understanding of public administration statesmanship.
