USE AND ROLE OF HEALTH CARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS

USE AND ROLE OF HEALTH CARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Your specific assignment for this module is to select a health care organization for your project and have it approved by your professor. You may consider any organization as long as you have enough access to the organization and/or level of understanding of that organization necessary to respond to the assignments. Note: You will not be asked to reveal any proprietary or confidential information in your reports. Most of your reports will be based on your research and observations.

Accordingly, your selected health care organization can be:

  • The organization for which you work.
  • A health care organization for which a friend or relative works. You must be able to access information concerning this organization that is relevant to your SLP assignments.
  • A local health care organization that is willing to share insight about how it manages health information.
  • Any health care organization that makes public its approach to health information management, operations, and organizational structure.

Provide a brief one-page overview of the organization you have selected and describe the reason for your selection and/or your relationship to the organization.  Within the context of your selected organization, describe what affect clinical information systems have on patient care, safety, quality, and other outcomes.

mental health topics /disorders

The purpose of this assignment is to discover more about mental health topics /disorders. You will choose a topic to research, then find 3 sources to learn about the topic. One of the sources may be your book, and at least one of the other sources should be from a scholarly peer-reviewed psychology related journal. Your paper should be in APA format, so must include in-text citations and a full reference page.  You are NOT required to write an abstract for this paper.

This assignment is worth 75 points

Format your paper in the following way:

Introduction (1-2 paragraphs) – this is where you introduce your topic. If you have chosen to write about a mental health diagnosis, this is where you will describe the disorder, its symptoms, and its treatment. If you are writing about a mental health topic, such as how social media affects anxiety in teenagers, for example, you would provide a detailed summary of the topic. It is also appropriate to discuss why this topic is of interest to you in this section.

Summary of source one (1-2 paragraphs) – in this section you will summarize the information from your first article. Your summary should be detailed enough so that the reader has a good basic understanding of the article, even if they have not read it.

Summary of source two (1-2 paragraphs) – in this section you will summarize the information from your second article. Your summary should be detailed enough so that the reader has a good basic understanding of the article, even if they have not read it.

Summary of source three (1-2 paragraphs) – in this section you will summarize the information from your third article. Your summary should be detailed enough so that the reader has a good basic understanding of the article, even if they have not read it.

Synthesis / Discussion of results (2-3 paragraphs) – this is the longest section of the paper. In this section you will be synthesizing or combining the information you have gotten from all three of your sources. This section will likely include your comparing and contrasting the information from your sources. For example, source one might indicate that any amount of social media use contributes to anxiety in teens while source two states limited social media use does not have any impact on anxiety, and source three might report that social media use combined with parental monitoring prevents anxiety. In this example, you would discuss those seemingly different pieces of information.

Summary (1 paragraph) – in this section, you will wrap up your paper.

Overview

Successful public managers understand how to apply leadership and management best practices to the public administration context.  This module introduces both to the student.  The course starts with an overview of what it takes to be a successful leader—specifically, the notion of “self-government” and personal leadership, or “intrapersonal leadership.”  Then, this discussion is applied to the public administration context.  In doing so, you will begin to develop your understanding of public administration statesmanship.

Conduct research and find an example of a corporate scandal that was in the news in the past three years.

In this course, we will examine the legal aspects of marketing first, then, we will examine the ethical aspects of marketing. Although this sequencing makes sense to allow us to dive into each topic, in reality, legal and ethical issues are often intertwined. There are no neon lights that let marketers know when the decision they’re facing has legal implications vs. ethical ones. In reality, marketing decisions require a constant awareness of both legal and ethical factors. For our first discussion, we will examine past corporate scandals and discuss whether the actions of the key players were illegal, unethical or both.

For your initial post, do the following:

  1. Conduct research and find an example of a corporate scandal that was in the news in the past three years.
  2. Summarize the details of the scandal.
  3. Analyze the actions of the key players involved. What was done illegally? What was done unethically?
  4. Share what you would have done in a similar situation.
  5. Include a link to your source(s) in your initial post.
