Explain the nonconstructive behaviors of Dan, Marie, and Peter that contribute to the family’s dysfunction.

This is your second session with the Robertsons. Dan appears to be resistant to family counseling; he refuses to accept responsibility for his choices that have caused so many family problems. Dan states, “If I have a drug or alcohol problem, it’s because of them. She won’t clean the house and he’s failing school. I don’t have the problem. They do.” Dan leaves the session. Marie states, “He expects the house to be clean, but most days I don’t even feel like getting out of bed. I just want to sleep.” Peter states, “He’s always nagging me about the Fs on my report card, but no one helps me with my homework so I don’t even try anymore.”

In your report of the session, you will describe the following:

  • How will you engage Marie and Peter even though Dan is not ready to participate?
  • Explain the nonconstructive behaviors of Dan, Marie, and Peter that contribute to the family’s dysfunction.
  • Identify the appropriate interventions for family recovery. Method Section (5-6 pages)For Week 8, you write the “Method Section” of your Project dealing with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory (attached is the original paper with research questions). Consider research methodologies and designs appropriate to solve your research problem. Then decide which research paradigm, i.e., qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodology, you plan to use in your study. In addition, describe your strategies for data collection and analysis. Below are key areas you need to address to complete the Methods Section. (Attached is a more depth explanation: READ ATTACHMENT PLEASE)
    • Participants (1 pages):
    • Procedures (1 pages): Procedures For Recruitment, Participation, and Data Collection (students      collecting their own data)
    • Measures/Instrumentation (2 pages): Instrumentation and      Operationalization of Constructs
    • Data Analysis Plan (1 pages)

Following the APA format and the Final Project Template, prepare the “Method Section” that describes the methodology used to test your hypotheses. This should include (a) participants, (b) procedures, (c) measures and/or instruments, and (d) data analysis plan.

For this assignment you will identify a current ethical issue from those provided, and analyze it from the perspective of Mill’s utilitarianism, Kant’s deontological ethic, and Aristotle’s virtue ethic.

PowerPoint needed. Great quality work. No plagiaris. A++ work. Need by Sunday September 13, 2020.

Description:

For this assignment you will identify a current ethical issue from those provided, and analyze it from the perspective of Mill’s utilitarianism, Kant’s deontological ethic, and Aristotle’s virtue ethic. Conclude your presentation by defending one of these approaches. You can use the same ethical theory that you used for your Final Paper, or you can use a different one.

Format & Expectations:

The format will be a PowerPoint presentation incorporating all of the “best practices” demonstrated in the Best Practices presentation in the Supporting Materials. You have the choice of using short, embedded audio clips (no more than 1-2 minutes per slide) to narrate your presentation, or using speaker’s notes. Your presentation should consist of 10-12 slides, including an introductory slide and a reference slide. Submit the presentation as an attachment. For grading expectations, please see the iRubric for this assignment. Note that MyClassroom has a 1 Gb limit for uploads.

Post an explanation of your assigned step of the research process and how you would complete that step. Assigned step was Focused research questions and research hypothesis

About 15 years ago, before evidence-based practice became a standard to which to aspire, a professor found an article describing a treatment program for substance-abusing African-American women that incorporated their children and aimed to preserve their families. The program was built around principles of African-centered theory. The professor thought the program appeared well designed and heartily urged students to study the article and possibly find ways to imitate the program ideas, if not the program itself. A few years later, the professor, having continued her education, especially in the area of research, searched for a follow-up on the program, perhaps reporting outcomes and evidence of effectiveness. No research evidence on the program appears in the scholarly journals. In fact, no evidence that the program continues to exist at this time has been found. The fact that what appeared to be a promising practice approach did not endure or have the opportunity to benefit from evaluation is unfortunate.

Note: This week you will work as a class to create a plan for evaluating the rite of passage program described in the assigned article. Each member of the class will be assigned one step of the research process:
Research problems and questions
Finding and using existing knowledge
Focused research questions and research hypothesis
Research methods
Sampling issues and options
Measurement
Data acquisition
Data collection instruments
Analyzing data
Disseminating research findings

To prepare for this Discussion, read the Poitier et al. study and then revisit what you have learned about your assigned step of the research process. Consider what would be the most important information to share with your colleagues about that step. Together the class will create a research plan for evaluating the rite of passage program described in the assigned article.

Homework:

Post an explanation of your assigned step of the research process and how you would complete that step. Assigned step was Focused research questions and research hypothesis

Instructions:

Use the following reference

ONLY ” Focused research questions and research hypothesis” is needed.

Determine which of these skills you perceive are most likely relevant to Nick’s current position as a programmer in an advertising firm and which of these skills you perceive are not adequately addressed in typical classroom environments today.

Ashford 3: – Week 2 – Assignment

Cultural Competence in the Classroom

Nikhil Goyal is a successful high school student who, like many students his age, hates school. But unlike most students his age, Nikhil wrote a speech about it and delivered it to a global audience via a TEDX Youth (2012) presentation. The central theme of the presentation is relevance and, specifically, how schools often lack relevance to the lives of their learners. The majority of Nikhil’s story focuses on Nick Perez, a boy who was marginalized in school and medicated to be able to adhere to the parameters of thought and behavior expected for participation in the school. As you view the presentation, you will learn how Nick became disillusioned by the lack of relevancy and interest in his studies and how his disenfranchisement eventually led him to drop out of school.

In this assignment, you will reflect on the story of Nick Perez and analyze it based on what might have happened differently if Nick’s education targeted the learning of 21st century skills through culturally relevant learning opportunities. Additionally, you will recommend a culturally relevant learning experience that might have been able to meet Nick’s needs in high school. Review the Instructor Guidance for this week for additional information and use the Ladson-Billing (1995) resource and Chapter 4 of Wardle (2013) to define a culturally relevant learning experience; apply this framework to the creation of solutions. Then, create your formal written assignment to meet the content and written communication expectations stated below.

Content Expectations

  • Video Analysis (3 points): Address the following three guiding statements:
    1. According to Nick, “I was denied the right to exist normally.  My school had wasted my time until there was no time left”.  Based on the information presented in the video, describe the learning experiences and cultural competencies that you believe were valued at Nick’s school.  Then, using Nick’s interest in computers as a form of his cultural identity, describe cultural competencies and learning experiences that would be most applicable and interesting to Nick (think about the way that he described his life at home and at computer camp).
    2. Examine the 4C skills (a) creativity and innovation, (b) critical thinking and problem solving, and (c) communication and (d) collaboration that are presented in Learning and Innovations Skills. Determine which of these skills you perceive are most likely relevant to Nick’s current position as a programmer in an advertising firm and which of these skills you perceive are not adequately addressed in typical classroom environments today.
    3. Explain how the acquisition of learning and innovation skills through culturally relevant learning opportunities can lead to greater student success in the classroom and in the real world.
  • Cultural Competencies References (1.5 points): Reference cultural competencies in your response to the Video Analysis guiding statements. Include examples using at least one of the following four characteristics:
    1. Awareness of one’s own cultural worldview (including biases)
    2. Knowledge of different cultural practices and worldviews
    3. Positive attitudes and open-mindedness toward cultural differences
    4. Ability to work successfully with others from different cultures
  • Culturally Relevant Learning References (1.5 points): Reference culturally relevant instruction in your response to the Video Analysis guiding statements. Reflect on strategies that align with this approach and include at least one of the following nine areas:
    1. Maximizing academic success through relevant instructional experiences
    2. Addressing cultural competence through reinforcing students’ cultural integrity
    3. Involving students in the construction of knowledge
    4. Building on students’ interests and linguistic resources
    5. Tapping home and community resources
    6. Understanding students’ cultural knowledge
    7. Using interactive and constructivist teaching strategies
    8. Examining the curriculum from multiple perspectives
    9. Promoting critical consciousness through opportunities to challenge predominant elements of the students’ social norms

Written Communication Expectations

  • Page Requirement (.25 points): Submit three to five pages, not including the title and reference pages.
  • APA Formatting (.25 points): Format your paper according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  • Syntax and Mechanics (.25 points): Display meticulous comprehension and organization of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling and grammar.
  • Source Requirement (.25 points): Reference at least one scholarly source in addition to the Partnership for 21st Century Learning’s Skills Framework, Ladson-Billing (1995) resource, and Chapter 4 in Wardle (2013) to provide compelling evidence to support ideas. All sources on the references page need to be used and cited correctly within the body of the assignment.
