The purpose of this assignment is to help you to develop practical research methods skills which you can use to undertake research in an employment/consultancy setting. You will also find these skills useful when doing a dissertation should you opt to do a Masters course after your undergraduate degree.
You are required to develop a research proposal to investigate an issue(s) connected with a tourism, hospitality, events and/or entertainment organisation of your choice. You are required to include the following:
⦁ A literature review of the topic comprising at least 4 key academic and 4 key industry sources which informs the research objectives and questionnaire
⦁ Some specific primary research objectives which define the different aspects of the issue that you will study (you should write between 3 and 6 objectives).
⦁ A methodology to investigate your research objectives (your research may draw on observational techniques and/or more traditional survey and interview techniques)
⦁ A data requirements table for your proposed research which shows the data you will gather under each objective followed by your data collection instruments (e.g. questionnaire, interviewer notes and questions/prompts, template for collecting observational data)
