To achieve the learning goals, students are expected to apply concepts and methods learned in this course in form of a research paper. Research topics may include, but are not limited to (PLEASE CHOOSE): – Biography of mystical figures and their place in history – Mystical groups or monastic community and their interactions with major religions. – Worship and techniques of mystical experience. PROFESSOR SAYS: I am particularly interested in substantive questions, such as: How do the mystics relate to the current politics, religious extremism, corporate greed, and environmental disruption? How do they maintain their teachings and communal cohesion in light of global migration, crises, pandemics, etc.? (journal articles or books from the library). The length of the paper should be around seven double-spaced pages not including the title and references pages. This assignment will be evaluated based on the following rubric attached (PLEASE VIEW).
