From the various assigned readings, one can conclude there are many ways to determine a facility problem. Adams (2015) indicates the following areas to consider for facility problems: “personal clinical experience and interest, national initiatives or a facility single event” (p. 72). Other ways are the PICOT method (pp. 87-88) and reference to your facility’s core measure data. Are there outliers (problem areas that do not fit within the expected outcomes)? DIRECTIONS: Post an INITIAL RESPONSE answering the following questions 1. What was your method for determining your facility problem? 2. How is EBP information currently distributed and utilized in your place of employment? 3. What evidence-based nursing practice model have you chosen to use? (Stetler, IOWA, or Model for Evidence-Based Practice Change) 4. Why did you choose this model? 5. How do you feel it best suits your facility? Certainly your personal opinion may have value if you based your decision on “interest” but be aware that clinical significance at your facility must be mentioned in your discussion. Most of your responses should show critical analysis of the topic and, and all discovered information must be supported by evidence from the scholarly literature. Your response must be typed (or copied and pasted) directly into the discussion thread. Your initial post to the DF must have at least 2 peer reviewed resources, cited and referenced, and be 250-300 words in length. In-text citations and references are not included in the word count. References cannot be older than 5 years. Please double-space between paragraphs but do NOT use double spacing or indention throughout. The only APA format should be for citation of sources in-text and the reference list. No file can be uploaded.
