Diversity considerations

 
Following the review of the Carl Whitaker Family Therapy video and Chapter 7 of the text, discuss any diversity considerations involved in the video. What factors within the case have the most relevance to Wally’s, Aaron’s father, world view? Would you as a therapist directly address his history of Polio when that was not the original presenting complaint? Can you envision yourself referring to a client as a “cripple”? How did Dr. Whitaker explain this focus upon the client’s illness?
