business organization

Question:1

One of the most important things for a business organization in the modern day environment is to protect the information of their clients and customers. The clients of a business are the most valuable stakeholders that associate themselves with a company because of the trust that they have in them. However, if a business organization will not be able to protect their information, the trust cannot be maintained which will affect the performance of the company in the market (Horadan 2017).

In order to make sure that a company has protected the information of their clients in such a way that there is minimum risk to it, there are certain practices that can be adopted by an organization. For this, one of the primary needs of the company is to create a good software environment. This needs them to develop a software in such a way that the employees of the company are able to understand the security aspects of it and the seriousness of these issues. This will also include an architecture analysis which will determine if the software is able to deal with the potential threats. This will also be based on a number of attack models. In order to increase the security of their software, the business organization can also conduct software testing on a number of different attack models to select the one that is best for their business (Lustgarten, 2015).

Once the company has developed a software that is suitable according to their needs, it is important for them to make sure that it is able to perform efficiently when required. For this, continuous testing of the software and the attack model is also important. The employees of the company need to be trained about using the software with safety and should also be trained in such a way that they are able to adopt the best practices of recovery in case of an emergency or an attack on the system (Horadan 2017).

Question:2

As an IT consultant, I will advise the organization to secure client’s data by implementing multiple security solutions (Blankley, 2014). Several threats may interfere with clients’ information. Those threats may include; Trojans, worms and viruses to mention a few. It is therefore advisable for n organization to provide several layers of security technology to devices within the organization in order to hinder data attacks (Tipton, 2017). I will also advise the organization to ensure that they encrypt the sensitive information that has been backed up. Most of the e-commerce businesses do not encrypt information meant for customers they also ensure that they encrypt as they back up the data in order to eliminate cases of being hacked in transit.

They also employ competent individuals to secure the systems as well as the data. Such individuals should also be trustworthy. People with bad intention may be pretending to be seeking for a job but in the real sense, they could be planning the system. I will also ensure that I advise them to secure the hardware to protect the data (Blankley, 2014). Most of the organizations which are business-oriented make use of data recovery plans in protecting their data but it is also advisable for the business organization to expand security to devices like laptops. I will also advise the staff of such organization to ensure their data is always safe.

What hypothesis should you test, and how should you run the test?

Case: The Problem with Vioxx and How It Affected the Drug Market

For years, the drug Vioxx, developed and marketed by Merck, was one of the blockbuster drugs on the market. One of a number of so-called Cox-2 anti-inflammatory drugs, Vioxx was considered by many people a miracle drug for alleviating the pain from arthritis and other painful afflictions. Vioxx was marketed heavily on television, prescribed by most physicians, and used by an estimated two million Americans.

All of that changed in October 2004, when the results of a large study were released. The study, which followed approximately 2600 subjects over a period of about 18 months, concluded that Vioxx use over a long period of time caused a significant increase in the risk of developing serious heart problems. Merck almost immediately pulled Vioxx from the American market and doctors stopped prescribing it.

On the basis of the study, Merck faced not only public embarrassment but the prospect of huge financial losses. More specifically, the study had 1287 patients using Vioxx for an 18-month period, and it had another 1299 patients using a placebo over the same period. After 18 months, 45 of the Vioxx patients had developed serious heart problems, whereas only 25 patients on the placebo developed such problems.

Given these results, would you agree with the conclusion that Vioxx caused a significant increase in the risk of developing serious heart problems?

• First, answer this from a purely statistical point of view, where significant means statistically significant. What hypothesis should you test, and how should you run the test? When you run the test, what is the corresponding p-value?

• Next, look at it from the point of view of patients. If you were a Vioxx user, would these results cause you significant worry? After all, some of the subjects who took placebos also developed heart problems, and 45 might not be considered that much larger than 25.

• Finally, look at it from Merck’s point of view. Are the results practically significant to the company? What does it stand to lose? Develop an estimate, no matter how wild it might be, of the financial losses Merck might incur. Just think of all of those American Vioxx users and what they might do.

What connections do you see between these leadership styles and promoting the healthy growth and development of young children?

As was highlighted in your previous course, throughout the MAECEL program, you will create one leadership journal in each course throughout your program.  These journal entries are designed to help you built upon what you have learned in previous courses, and to expand and extend your thinking about yourself as a professional and ethical leader in early childhood education.

Part 1:  Course Reflection (1 point): For your second journal, you will begin by reading the article, Leadership Styles (Links to an external site.). Respond to each essential question below. Provide an explanation with supporting details and examples in your response to each reflective question.

  1. How do see the four different leaderships styles shared in the article align with using developmentally appropriate practices when working with young children?
  2. What connections do you see between these leadership styles and promoting the healthy growth and development of young children?

Part 2: Program/Professional Reflection (2 points). Describe someone from your personal or professional life that personifies each leadership trait reflected in the article (these can be different people or the same person), and how they have positively impacted your life. How does this person exemplify the leadership traits you have learned about so far in this program?  Reflect on which trait(s) you identify yourself with now, and how each trait will foster your ability to be an effective leader in your field.  Finally, what is your plan for strengthening those traits that might not be as evident currently?

Instructions

Social media use is critical to a dynamic and competitive brand, whether that brand is something you sell, a group home, a non-profit organization, or your self-image. This project will get you thinking about effective ways to shape your social media tools to make the most of your brand, to keep consumers talking and thinking about your brand, and to get interaction from those you seek to sell to or to help. You will take a look at what you post to social media, possible responses or reactions you will receive, as well as use social media trends and society controls to keep your brand meeting your goals.

Your final project should include a plan for the following: how you will utilize a minimum of four social media sites; what your target audience will be; your use of contacts, outreach, and advertising best practices; your posting do’s and don’ts; and explanations of your choices using the sources from the course and others you find.

If you have a real business, brand, or site to work on, you can start by putting the site profiles into the four social media sites you have chosen (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Screenshots will work for these that you have really made. If you don’t really have a business or brand, you do not need to create faux profiles. However, you should write the information you would include in your profile for each one.

In summary, your plan should contain:

  • An introduction to your brand or company
  • Your social media goals and general goals for the brand
  • An analysis of the market comparables — similar businesses/nonprofits/brands, including what has been successful and what hasn’t worked for at least 3 good comparable brands
  • Discussion of societal norms for those comparables. What seem to be the “rules” they follow? Is there open or tacit regulation you’ve noticed? Include how you can expand your influence globally by overcoming potential language and culture barriersÂ
  • An analysis of advertising and its necessity along with the type of advertising you would do and why
  • An outline of the audience you intend to reach and how to reach them. Be sure to take into account the factors that are in play when attempting to reach an audience that includes a wide range of ages (consider generational differences)
  • A plan for how to use your contacts and add new ones when publicizing and staying connected
  • A plan for each of four social media sites, including profile information and posting ideas
  • Analysis of any of the theories you would use
  • A conclusion

Your project lengths will depend on how much depth you put into your analysis of each section, but to give you a general idea, several paragraphs for most of the bullet points is a good length, and should result in a total of around 10 pages.
