Discuss the principles for effectively implementing an action plan.

If counseling is all talk and no action, it is not effective counseling. The problem is that clients encounter many barriers in carrying out actions they identify in the counseling process.

Write a 750-1,000-word paper discussing action planning and overcoming barriers for client treatment. Please use headings and include the following in your paper:

  1. Discuss the principles for effectively implementing an action plan.
  2. Describe at least five barriers that might interfere with client implementation of the action plans that are created. Include a case example of each barrier.
  3. Outline a counselor intervention that would help to overcome each barrier.
  4. A list of your local community resources for different types of needs.
  5. Outline an aftercare plan that utilized local community resources.

Include at least three scholarly references in your paper.

Instructions

Social media use is critical to a dynamic and competitive brand, whether that brand is something you sell, a group home, a non-profit organization, or your self-image. This project will get you thinking about effective ways to shape your social media tools to make the most of your brand, to keep consumers talking and thinking about your brand, and to get interaction from those you seek to sell to or to help. You will take a look at what you post to social media, possible responses or reactions you will receive, as well as use social media trends and society controls to keep your brand meeting your goals.

Your final project should include a plan for the following: how you will utilize a minimum of four social media sites; what your target audience will be; your use of contacts, outreach, and advertising best practices; your posting do’s and don’ts; and explanations of your choices using the sources from the course and others you find.

If you have a real business, brand, or site to work on, you can start by putting the site profiles into the four social media sites you have chosen (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Screenshots will work for these that you have really made. If you don’t really have a business or brand, you do not need to create faux profiles. However, you should write the information you would include in your profile for each one.

In summary, your plan should contain:

  • An introduction to your brand or company
  • Your social media goals and general goals for the brand
  • An analysis of the market comparables — similar businesses/nonprofits/brands, including what has been successful and what hasn’t worked for at least 3 good comparable brands
  • Discussion of societal norms for those comparables. What seem to be the “rules” they follow? Is there open or tacit regulation you’ve noticed? Include how you can expand your influence globally by overcoming potential language and culture barriersÂ
  • An analysis of advertising and its necessity along with the type of advertising you would do and why
  • An outline of the audience you intend to reach and how to reach them. Be sure to take into account the factors that are in play when attempting to reach an audience that includes a wide range of ages (consider generational differences)
  • A plan for how to use your contacts and add new ones when publicizing and staying connected
  • A plan for each of four social media sites, including profile information and posting ideas
  • Analysis of any of the theories you would use
  • A conclusion

Your project lengths will depend on how much depth you put into your analysis of each section, but to give you a general idea, several paragraphs for most of the bullet points is a good length, and should result in a total of around 10 pages.

Explain how you would handle the change from two fire departments into a single department.  If you are for consolidation, how would your command structure change?

Your final paper will consist of a consolidation study.  You are to make a case either for or against the benefits of consolidation.  You can use the fire department from your Week 4 paper or choose another fire department.  In many areas of the country, fire departments are undergoing consolidation.  As communities grow and populations increase, some fire departments are considering combining with other departments in order to avoid duplication of services, reduce costs, and a variety of other reasons.
You are to choose a fire department (“Department A”) and analyze the services offered to the citizens. Assume that a neighboring department (“Department B”) provides similar fire services, although possibly at a different level.  Your goal with this paper is to determine whether or not there are benefits to consolidating two fire departments into a single department.
Assume your are a Fire Chief of “Department A” that is considering absorbing “Department B.”  You are writing this paper to make a case to your City Council or County Council as to whether or not it would be advantageous to consolidate and absorb “Department B.”

Part 1.  Report on the overall budget of both fire departments.  Include the populations covered, the size of the departments, number of stations, services offered, ISO rating, etc. Give an overall view of both of the departments’ budget.
Part 2.  Make an argument as to whether or not consolidation of services into a single department would make sense from a financial standpoint.  Analyze whether or not it would make sense to combine budgets in order to offer the same fire services, or possibly even better fire services, to the citizens to be covered under the consolidated fire department.
Part 3.  Explain how you would handle the change from two fire departments into a single department.  If you are for consolidation, how would your command structure change?  How would you absorb the personnel from the other fire department?  Would you keep the same staffing at all of the stations?  Would you keep all the stations open, or are there some that could be closed?  How would you handle fire prevention and inspection efforts?  If you are against consolidation, explain why.  These are only some of the issues you should cover.  Feel free to include others.
Your paper should be a minimum of four pages and should be submitted in APA format.  Use your textbook, the internet, professional journals as well as information you gain from personal interviews.  You must use a minimum of four sources.
