Please answer the following questions:
- What were your impressions of the reading we did this week?
- What rhetorical features stood out to you from the reading? What choices did the authors make that you thought were effective and/or ineffective?
- What kinds of articles about games would you like to read in the future? What other topics about games are you interested in?
- How will this reading help you to approach your Game Project for English 102?
This is the person writing that ordered the Reflection Assignment. Here is someone else’s response to the questions, just so you have an idea what I am looking for. I originally wrote that my favorite game is Poker (Texas hold-em), just wanted to let you know so you might be able to incorporate that in this assignment. Here is the example
My impressions of the reading this week is that most were a little confusing at first but then showed indepth of what they fully meant. I found it interesting because I never really read about games and it gave me some help when wanting to create my own game. A rhetorical feature that stood out to me from the reading is when the author spoke about black lives towards a game and the differences during covid 19. And they started adding more black players into the game which showed diversity in the game and applies to a bigger audience. The choice of the author to speak on the new information that people are learning shows that it’s good and gives people a better understanding when someone says “black lives matterâ€.
Other game topics I would like to read in the future are maybe on how the creator feels about their game and why they created the game or even communicate where they got their ideas on the game. I’m interested in maybe a topic about mario bros since i play it all the time with my boyfriend or brothers. This reading will help me because it gives me ideas for a game, and techniques on how to write it without someone knowing how to play it without even knowing what the game is.
