Create a PowerPoint presentation of at least 10 slides that could be given in a professional context.

Create a PowerPoint presentation of at least 10 slides that could be given in a professional context. The presentation will demonstrate the use of professional guidelines and tools that create a strategy for dealing with an ethical dilemma in a simulated case study, and will analyze the usefulness of those guidelines and tools.

Note: You are strongly encouraged to complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.

Ethical principles, professional standards, theories, and decision-making models provide guides for navigating complex moral choices in professional contexts.

The Presentation

Your PowerPoint should include the following:

  1. Title slide: On the first slide of the PowerPoint:
    • Enter a descriptive title of approximately 5–15 words that concisely communicates the heart of the case study. It should stir interest while maintaining professional decorum.
    • Enter your name, and a job title and organization that would fit with your case study.
  2. Case Study Overview slides: Provide the briefest possible narrative description of the professional conflict in the case. Additional supporting details and references can be added in the notes section in the slide. The overview should include:
    • The professional setting of the case.
    • Brief descriptions of the individuals involved and their roles.
    • A brief summation of the ethical dilemma presented in the case study.

  4. Comparison of Ethical Theories slides: In the first row of the provided table, enter the names of two ethical theories that you think would be the most appropriate for the situations in the case. In the following rows, enter comparisons of relevant features of the two theories. In the notes section, evaluate which theory provides a more functional framework for your case and explain why. • Apply the model to your case and, under each step of the model, describe how that step would look if you applied it to the case.
    • Incorporate multicultural issues presented in the case study within the selected ethical decision-making model.
    • Add copies of this slide as needed, and combine steps on the slides as necessary or appropriate. In the notes section, write out supporting narrative details for your bullet points. (Note that ethical theories and ethical decision-making models are two different things. Please make sure you are applying steps of the ethical decision-making model to your case).
  6. Proposed Resolution slide: Use bullet points to summarize your proposed resolution to the ethical dilemmas in the case. In the notes section, write out supporting narrative details for your bullet points.
  7. References slides: Use current APA style and formatting guidelines.

Summarize your sources and analyze the findings from your research.    Discuss the key issues and controversies surrounding your selected topic.

Then, review the PSY101 Outline and Annotated Bibliography Template, which contains the layout for this week’s assignment.  Your outline must be one to two pages in length.  Clearly identify the topic selected, and include major headings for the areas to be considered.  The major areas include:

  • A well-written introduction and conclusion with a succinct thesis statement.
  • Summarize your sources and analyze the findings from your research.
  • Discuss the key issues and controversies surrounding your selected topic.
  • Identify a variety of perspectives on the selected topic, so that the discussion is balanced and not one-sided.
  • Distinguish how cognitive and behavioral implications might play a role in your selected topic.  What learning principles could factor in with the topic?  What theories of motivation and personality could influence your insights into the topic?
  • Analyze any additional research that could be done in the future and provide solutions that could be implemented in the present regarding your selected topic.

Under each major heading, summarize your point about that heading.  Subheadings should briefly summarize research that may both support and disagree with each viewpoint, if applicable.  This outline will form your roadmap for creating your Final Paper.

In addition to your outline, submit a one- to two- page annotated bibliography of your scholarly sources for your Final Paper.  Each source must include the APA formatted citation as well as a summary paragraph.  The summary paragraph should contain four to five well-developed sentences in your own words (do not use the abstract included with journal articles) summarizing the source and describing its applicability to your selected topic.  You are required to use a minimum of five scholarly sources that were published within the last five years and are cited according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.  Examples of scholarly sources include: peer-reviewed journal articles, research studies, professional websites with authored material, and government websites.  Popular internet sites (Wikipedia, Newsweek, New York Times, etc.) are not considered scholarly sources. These sources will also be used for writing your Final Paper.

the topic is What techniques have professionals used to treat insomnia, and how effective are those treatments?

What did you learn that confirms your prior knowledge from your research? What information surprised you?

In  the Stakeholder Interview and Reflection Assignment, you will interview a  person who has a vested interest in the research problem you are  investigating. You will submit a document to the dropbox with the  following information:

  1. A report of your stakeholder’s responses to your interview questions
  2. A reflection of the experience of interviewing the stakeholder

Part 1: Interview and Report

In Chapter 1, we learned that a stakeholder is a person who has an  interest or stake in a problem relevant to society (Repko, Szostak,  & Buchberger, 2017). The authors recommend that researchers look to  such stakeholders for their insights and expertise. Therefore, you will  identify a person who has a vested interest in the research problem you  are investigating and ask them questions to help you better understand  the problem. For example, if your research problem is how to reduce the  incidence of Type 2 diabetes in adolescents, appropriate stakeholders  would be a doctor, nurse, patient, or caregiver with experience with the  disease.

Use the questions below to interview a stakeholder associated with your problem.

  1. What is your role related to the problem/issue of ___________ and how do you interact with the issue on a daily or weekly basis?
  2. How long have you been involved with this issue/problem?
  3. What if any was your prior experience with this problem/issue?
  4. Did you receive any education/training to deal with the problem/issue, etc.)?
  5. What have been the biggest challenges and what has been the most  gratifying experience for you as you have worked with this  issue/problem?
  6. In your opinion, what are some causes of this problem?
  7. In your opinion, what are some of the effects of this problem?
  8. How could this problem be solved?

Upon completion of the interview, please write a report of the stakeholder’s responses to your interview questions.

Part 2: Reflection

After writing up the responses to the interview questions, write a  reflection of the interview experience. The reflection should share some  of the insights that you discovered about the problem through the  interview process and some of the additional thoughts that were inspired  regarding the problem due to some of the stakeholder’s responses. Your  response to each bulleted question should be approximately 100 words (a  4-5 sentence paragraph).

  1. What was something useful you learned that will help you write the paper?
  2. What did you learn that confirms your prior knowledge from your research?
  3. What information surprised you?
  4. How did the insights you learned from the interview help you understand your research problem better?

Part 1 and Part 2 should be included in the same document, which you will submit to the Stakeholder Interview and Reflection Dropbox.
