Describe your recommended plan to withdraw any treatment components while maintaining low rates of challenging behavior. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures.

For this assignment, you will be assessed on your understanding of the following course competencies:

  • Recommend intervention goals based on client preferences, supporting environments, risks, constraints, and social validity.
  • Design research-based interventions for individual cases based on the principles of applied behavior analysis.
  • Develop a plan to measure, generalize, and maintain intervention strategies.
  • Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology.

How to Organize Your Paper

Use the following subheadings (formatted in current APA style) to label the three main sections of your paper:

Intervention Support Plan

Apply behavioral assessment methods for the consideration and selection of intervention outcomes and strategies for the target behavior in your case study. You will exercise your clinical writing skills to create a detailed behavior intervention plan including the following:

  • Operational Definitions and Functions of Identified Target Behaviors: For this section, summarize all results of the assessment portion. Prioritize and define the behaviors to be targeted, and list the functions of each of those behaviors.
  • Antecedent Procedures: Based on the results of the functional behavior analysis (FBA), describe the antecedent procedures you recommend to prevent the behavior from occurring. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures.
  • Replacement Procedure: Based on the functions of behavior, describe the replacement behaviors you would like to address, as well as your plan for how they would be taught and reinforced. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures.
  • Consequential Procedures: Based on the results of the FBA, describe how you would want others (therapist, teacher, or caregiver) to respond if the behavior occurs. Describe how to arrange the environment such that others will respond accordingly.
  • Short-Term Goals: Describe behavioral goals for the client to be achieved with three months of service. Be sure to cite the research justifying these goals.
  • Long-Term Goals: Describe the ultimate goals of the intervention. Describe the discharge criteria for the recommended ABA services. Be sure to cite the research justifying these goals.
  • Generalization and Maintenance Procedures: Describe your recommended plan to generalize the skills learned in this treatment plan. Describe your recommended plan to withdraw any treatment components while maintaining low rates of challenging behavior. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures.
Monitoring Systems Support for Behavior

Present your design for effective performance monitoring and reinforcement systems for your chosen case study.

Implementation of ABA Techniques

Discuss the research that supports your decision for the implementation of intervention strategies here. Reference the literature gathered in previous units to help you create an empirically valid intervention plan.

What else do you feel you need to know (or, what might be some areas you may ask about in order to determine what is going on and how severe the problem may be)?

Mr. and Mrs. E are members of your church. Mr. E is seeking counseling but asking that his wife or children not be involved in any of the sessions as they are not aware of the difficulties he is experiencing.  Mr. E is a 27-year-old electrician and complains of dizziness, sweating palms, heart palpitations, and ringing of the ears.  He states that these symptoms have been occurring for at least the last 18 months.  He has also experienced dry mouth and throat, periods of extreme muscle tension, and a constant “edgy” and watchful feeling that has often interfered with his ability to concentrate.  These feelings have been present most of the time over the previous 2 years; they have not been limited to discrete periods.  Although these symptoms sometimes make him feel “discouraged,” he denies feeling depressed and continues to enjoy activities with his family.

He also has many worries.  He constantly worries about the health of his parents.  His father, in fact, had a myocardial infarction 2 years previously, but is now feeling well.  He also worries about whether he is “a good father,” whether his wife will ever leave him (there is no indication that she is dissatisfied with the marriage), and whether he is liked by co-workers on the job.  Although he recognizes that his worries are often unfounded, he can’t stop worrying.

For the past 2 years he has had few social contacts because of his nervous symptoms.  Although he has sometimes had to leave work when the symptoms became intolerable, he continues to work for the same company he joined for his apprenticeship following high-school graduation.  He tends to hide his symptoms from his wife and children, to whom he wants to appear “perfect,” and reports few problems with them as a result of his nervousness.

Please respond (short answer is fine) to all of the following questions:

In your diagnosis, please use DSM IV-TR diagnoses when appropriate (found in your powerpoint presentations)

  1. What are the client’s most prominent ‘presenting issues’ (that is, what seems to take priority as being wrong)?

  1. What else do you feel you need to know (or, what might be some areas you may ask about in order to determine what is going on and how severe the problem may be)?

  1. What do you think may be your ‘initial diagnosis’ based on the information given in the case study? Why?

  1. What, if any, psychospiritual factors might be present and maintaining the presenting issue?

  1. What are possible methods of treatment or referral?

Write a paper (1,500-1,750 words) in which you address how modern research and empirical study may validate Freudian theory and how Freudian theory continues to influence modern psychology. Include the following in your paper:

The Future of Freud

Please! No Plagiarized Assignment

Freudian theory continued to evolve even as Neo-Freudian theories continued to emerge. Today, Freudian ideas still provide a foundation for modern psychology and research though some appear in a significantly different form. In this assignment, you will address how modern research and empirical study may validate Freudian theory and how Freudian theory continues to influence modern psychology. You will also explore how Freudian and Neo-Freudian theories address the general problems explored in the field of psychology.

General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments.

· You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

Directions:

Write a paper (1,500-1,750 words) in which you address how modern research and empirical study may validate Freudian theory and how Freudian theory continues to influence modern psychology. Include the following in your paper:

1. A discussion of how medical monitoring and empirical research have supported Freud’s drive theory.

2. A discussion of why psychoanalysis is still questioned in scientific circles.

3. A discussion of the general problems explored in the field of psychology.

4. A discussion of how Freudian and Neo-Freudian theories attempt to address these problems.

5. A discussion of what still needs to be explored in the field of psychology in order to more adequately address these problems.

explain why the other paraphrases are less effective and why they may constitute violations of Walden’s academic integrity policy.

Discussion: Recognizing Examples of Academic Integrity Violations

Now that you understand Walden’s policy on academic integrity, you will examine writing samples that may or may not adhere to Walden’s policy. This exercise will help you learn how to identify appropriate and inappropriate use of source material.

To prepare for this Discussion:

Review the Week 2 Resources. Pay special attention to the videos on effective and ineffective paraphrasing.

By Day 3

Post a 1- to 2-paragraph analysis of three paraphrases of a source passage. In your own words, identify which paraphrase you think is most effective, and explain why. Also, explain why the other paraphrases are less effective and why they may constitute violations of Walden’s academic integrity policy.

Source passage:

“Policymakers are challenged to broaden their outlook of preferred plagiarism prevention measures and look towards those strategies that take into account the reasons students give for their plagiarism in the first place, and to build on the value that most students place upon their personal integrity” (Awdry & Sarre, 2013, p. 45).

Student A’s paraphrase:

Policymakers should broaden their outlook of plagiarism prevention measures by considering the reasons students give for plagiarism and by emphasizing the value most students place on personal integrity.

Student B’s paraphrase:

Education experts should expand their vision of strategies to reduce plagiarism by considering the explanations students give for committing plagiarism and by remembering that most students respect the need for academic integrity (Awdry & Sarre, 2013).

Student C’s paraphrase:

According to Awdry and Sarre (2013), policymakers are challenged to broaden their outlook of preferred plagiarism prevention measures and look towards those strategies that take into account the reasons students give for their plagiarism in the first place, and to build on the value that most students place upon their personal integrity.
