  • Use additional references to support your arguments and provide evidence as needed.
  • Use key language and phrases suggested in your readings.
  • Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Explain the concept of “best practice” and what it means in the context of diversity strategy. What are the challenges of developing and implementing best practices? What are the potential benefits?

In this assignment, you are the game show host for the Diversity game (attached PowerPoint).

Gather two or three friends or family members as contestants. If you have more, divide them into two groups. Use a piece of paper to keep score and print the second page of the presentation to mark which questions were incorrectly answered.

1. Open the PowerPoint Diversity game. Start the Slideshow to begin.

Read these instructions to the teams:

  • One person (or team) will randomly be selected to choose the first question category and level. Once a question is read aloud, all person (or team) will debate the answer. One team will raise a hand or use his or her assigned team noisemaker when the team is ready to answer.
  • I will call on the first team to respond. If they answer correctly, they will receive the number of points indicated, and they will choose the next question category and level. If their answer is incorrect, I will call upon the second team and so on.
  • In the event that no team answers the question correctly, I will give the correct response. The team that chose last still has control of the board and should choose the next question.
  • Scores will be recorded and the winner announced at the end of the round. There will be one round of 25 questions (or two rounds of 25 questions each if you also play Double Diversity).

2. Once you have the “board” displayed, and the first team has selected their question, click one of the cells to reveal a question.

3. To return to the main board, click on the “Diversity” icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

4. If the game is close, use the Double Diversity board.  To advance to the Double Diversity board, click the logo in the top-right (above “The Amazing Race”) of the main game board. This will take you to the Double Diversity! board (Board 2).

After playing the game, discuss with the contestants why they believe they missed some of the questions.

Write a 500-word essay that evaluates the game play, your thoughts on why questions were correctly and incorrectly answered, and what you learned from the game.

Assignment – Part 2:

Select three of the following five prompts.  Write a response of at least 300 words for each of the three prompts:

  • What was one of your earliest experiences concerning race? Describe the experience, how you felt, and how the experience was handled. If you could rewrite that experience, how would you change it and/ or how it was handled?
  • Explain the concept of “best practice” and what it means in the context of diversity strategy. What are the challenges of developing and implementing best practices? What are the potential benefits?
  • What are some of the ways that Pitney Bowes has aligned its goals for diversity with a market-driven approach to meeting its customers’ needs? Be specific.
  • What is/are the common theme(s) between the Bowman exercise and the Miner article?
  • Review the author’s list of 46 examples of white privilege. Critically evaluate which of these indicate white privilege and which might be artifacts of other forces (market forces, personal choice, etc.).

Submit both Assignments in the same document.

Assignment Expectations:

  • Length:
    • 1400-1750 words (5-7 pages); answers must thoroughly address the questions in a clear, concise manner

Defend a change leadership action plan that your organization should implement to create positive change outcomes and reduce or virtually eliminate resistance to change.

Organizational Development (OD) is a method organizations use to manage change. OD implements change in an organization by using the action research (AR) model to identify a problem, plan change, implement interventions, and evaluate the success of the change process. Two key tenets of the AR model are:

  1. Involve those doing the work (e.g., employees, stakeholders) in the change planning, implementation, and review.
  2. Create a cyclical OD process whereby results from one cycle (i.e., evaluation) becomes part of the input for the next cycle (i.e., identify problem)

To begin this week’s section of the final project, briefly review your chosen organization (LIFE COACH SCHOOL OF ARKANSAS) . Presume that the reader does not know the identity of your organization or what you have evaluated thus far. What is the essential information the reader should know? This section of your paper should be a very brief summary, likely no more than three or four sentences. Be sure to provide an appropriate APA introduction to your paper.

Next, describe one or two recent change events that have occurred in your subject organization.

  • What was the planned change?
  • How well did the change effort work?
  • Using research in organizational and leadership literature, evaluate the change event.
    • What mistakes were made?
    • What key lessons can you summarize from your evaluation of the past event?

Next, research the literature on change leadership. Defend a change leadership action plan that your organization should implement to create positive change outcomes and reduce or virtually eliminate resistance to change. Be sure to support your plan with research.

Next, assess strategic steps to leverage insights from the employees at different levels of the organization in every stage of the change process. Be sure to support your strategic steps with research.

Finally, justify how your proposed change process for the organization aligns to the organizational values.

Submission Details:

  • Submit your answers in a 6- to 7-page Microsoft Word document

Provide a chronological history of the individual’s major life experiences. Identify specific biological, psychological and sociological influences that shaped the individual’s experience.

Throughout the HSBE I and II courses, you have explored the biological, psychological, and sociological aspects of different phases of the human life span. You have explored life-span development theories that help to explain human behavior. You also have considered how the social environment influences individuals and their behavior.

Gathering facts about a client’s life span through the interview process is an important social work skill. This week, you practice this skill by interviewing an older adult using the questions in the Life Span Interview document available in this week’s resources. For this week’s Assignment you transform your interview notes into a narrative—that is, a life story—of the older adult you interviewed. You interweave within this narrative an analysis of the life story by applying person and the environment concepts to your understanding and interpretation of that story.

Submit a 3- to 5-page paper in which you provide a narrative analysis of the Life Span Interview you completed. The paper should:

  • Provide a chronological history of the individual’s major life experiences.
    • Identify specific biological, psychological and sociological influences that shaped the individual’s experience.
  • Analyze the individual’s experiences by applying theory and concepts learned throughout both HBSE courses.
  • Provide your reflection of the experience, both in interviewing the individual and analyzing their narrative.
  • Explain what you learned and how you will apply this to future social work practice.

Support your Assignment with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.
