  • The significance of the study to the field of psychology
  • A brief discussion of supportive or contradictory follow-up research findings and subsequent questioning or criticism from others in the field
  • A summary of at least one recent experiment (within the past two years) that is related to the seminal experiment (Hint: Excellent sources for recent research summaries are the American Psychological Association’s Monitor on Psychology and the Association for Psychological Science).
  • Your own evaluation of whether the breakthrough experiments of Drs. Gardner and Loftus were examples of genius, the zeitgeist, or some other factor. Use their own autobiographical accounts as well as your analyses of their experiments and personal stories to support your opinion.

As someone with a background in psychology, you (Darius) have been chosen to be the foreman for this jury. Your task is to organize the jury’s thoughts on whether the defendant should be found guilty or innocent.

This particular jurisdiction requires a jury to submit a court document that summarizes the verdict process. Therefore, you will need to provide a Word document to the judge explaining the Jury’s thought process during deliberation for the court to file away as part of the official verdict. Use references from this module and include APA in-text citations.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL OUTLINE

Overview

The purpose of this final assignment is to compose a research proposal outline using the resources provided on first-generation college graduates and any other articles you may want to add on this topic. You may take either a qualitative or quantitative approach.

Use one of the following templates to explore this topic and complete all the research characteristics that are reflected in each of the PPT slides:

Once completed, this template can serve as a guide for your own research proposal project in the future.

Instructions

This assignment requires that you use your accumulated knowledge about the elements of research.  In this final project, you will create a proposal for how you might study the topic of first generation college students either qualitatively or quantitatively.

A PowerPoint template has been provided for you to outline your ideas. Each slide has a major heading that focuses on the given research component. The major headings are accompanied by subheadings that signal the main points to be addressed. As this is a PowerPoint presentation, you are not asked to provide a full narrative, but rather clear and concise bullet points demonstrating your understanding or each aspect of the plan.

Use the literature provided above, the course text, and any additional scholarly sources you choose to support your work. See Program Library Research GuidesReviewing the Literature, and Library Help for guidance.

What relations of care need to be maintained or developed?   Their are three cases and each case needs to be at least a paragraph long and answer to the best of your knowledge.

Thinking Critically About Ethical Issues. As in all cases for this course, you must identify the parties and the moral issue(s) at stake. Then concentrate on identifying the relationships among the individuals. What relations of care need to be maintained or developed?   Their are three cases and each case needs to be at least a paragraph long and answer to the best of your knowledge.

Case 13a.  A married couple discover that their 22-year old daughter, a college senior, is a lesbian.  They are shocked and dismayed, for they regard this as moral degeneracy.  They are thinking of refusing to attend her graduation and refusing to welcome her in their home until she renounces this sexual preference.

Case 11.   A married couple, both addicted to drugs, are unble to care for their infant daughter.  She is taken from them by court order and placed in a foster home.   The years pass.  She comes to regard her foster parents as her real parents.  They love her as they would their own daughter.  When the child is 9 years old, her natural paents, rehabilitated from drugs, begin court action to regain custody.  The case is decided in their favor.  The child is returned to them, against her will.  Does ethics support the law in this case? Discuss.

Case 19.   Elvira is very much in love with her fiance’, Ethelred.  Though they have been engaged for over a year (and sexually intimate for almost as long), Ethelred balks at setting a date for the marriage.  Elvira is convinced that his obstacle is not disaffection, but fear, and that once he can be moved to action, he will be relieved and happy.  She therefore feigns pregnancy and plans to feign a miscarriage after they are married.
