Summary of a Peer-Reviewed Article

Identify and summarize a published research article, in either the print literature or online, that uses one of the multivariate statistical analysis we have looked at in this course in the results section. Acceptable articles will have factor analysis, logistic regression, MANOVA, or discriminant analysis as their primary method of data analysis.

Important: your article must be one that relates to either 1) your proposed dissertation topic, or 2) your current career of field of interest.

For this assignment, find an article based on only one experiment rather than on a series of experiments. The selected article must be based on empirical (data-based) research. Qualitative studies, meta-analytic studies, or purely descriptive research studies are not appropriate.

Summarize the study in a two-page paper, focusing primarily on the methodology and the meaning of the output. Details of the procedure (for example, sampling) are not as important as a thorough discussion of the method and its meaning. Be sure to interpret the output using the terms and vocabulary we have studied. The Final Exam consists of eight (8) Essay questions. Use the reading   assignments thoroughly in an integrative discussion of your own understanding   of the questions posed. Remember to reference all work cited or quoted   by the text author. You should be doing this often in your responses. If you use outside resources, they should support the text information, but not replace the text.
All discussions must take into account the legal and ethical   considerations, as well as issues of culture and human diversity that   may pertain to the questions below.  Legal and Ethical information   is in Chapter 16 of the course text. Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapters 8 and 9 in the textbook and carefully review Section 4 of Chapter 7 in the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration (2006) guide, Testing and Assessment: A Guide to Good Practices for Workforce Investment Professionals. For this discussion, you will take on the role of a psychologist who was recently assigned two new clients. You will examine psychological assessment information presented in two different formats: a computer generated interpretative report of personality test results for the patient Mr. I and a psychological report written by a licensed psychologist for the patient Ms. S. In your initial post, you will examine the personality assessment instruments used in each report.

Carefully review the Case Description: Mr. I—Psychiatric Inpatient Interpretive Report; this patient was referred to you after being admitted into a psychiatric inpatient facility. Write a one-paragraph summary of the computer generated MMPI-2-RF results for Mr. I based on the information in the interpretive report.
