Visit the Research Methods research guide in the Ashford University Library and search the databases for a minimum of one peer-reviewed journal article published within the last 10 years about each of the research designs you selected. The articles must not be research studies using the designs. Instead, they must be about how to conduct a study using the design. Examples of acceptable articles for this assignment are listed at the Suggested Articles tab in the Research Methods research guide.

In your paper, briefly outline the topic you selected for your Final Research Proposal in Week One and apply the scientific method by suggesting both a specific research question and a hypothesis for the topic. Evaluate your chosen peer-reviewed articles summarizing each and explaining how the research design described could be useful for designing original research on your topic. Compare and contrast the paradigms or worldviews inherent in the methodology associated with each research design. Apply professional standards and situate yourself as a researcher by identifying which of these approaches best fits with your worldview.

patterns of how we think and gives us an understanding of what has shaped us. The

requirement for this paper are for you to take a look at yourself and focus on two distinct

concepts of yourself. The first concept is the past concept: pick three things you have

learned this semester that relate to how you have become the person that you are. For

example, take the idea of socialization and explain an event in your life that has happened

and relates to this idea. The other concept is the future concept: focus on two things that

you can take from this class to shape who you are going to be in the future. With both of

these, make sure to completely explain the ideas that you are expressing from the book.

Each paper must meet the following standards:

Explain the supervisor’s role and skill set as explained in the discrimination model of supervision. Be specific to the case and provide examples.

•Review Advocacy, Ethics, and Essential Professional Foundations, and the articles, focusing on the discrimination model of supervision. Think about the supervisory skills found in the discrimination model and how they are relevant to the supervisor’s role.

•Read the “Supervision Case Study’ document located in the Learning Resources. Think about how, in each of the supervisory roles of the discrimination model, you would approach the supervisee, Michael. Reflect on the supervisory skills that would be most relevant to each supervisory role for this case.

Use the following reference for help, or you may use other resources as long as cited.

The Assignment (2–3 pages) not including title and reference page

  • Using the discrimination model by (Benard), explain how you would apply each of the supervisory roles in your approach with Michael, the supervisee in the case study. (See attached case study)

Here are the supervisory roles that are in “ ”

For example, psychologist Janine M. Bernard, PhD, of Syracuse University developed a discrimination model to supervision, which combines the supervisor role as “teacher” when the supervisor is instructing a trainee, “counselor” when assisting trainees in working with client problems, or “consultant” when working with trainees on patient cases.

  • For each supervisor role in the discrimination model, describe one skill that is most relevant to the role and justify your response.
  • Explain the supervisor’s role and skill set as explained in the discrimination model of supervision. Be specific to the case and provide examples.

Define and give examples of compliance, identification, and internalization. Which of these has the most permanent influence on an individual’s behavior? Select one of these responses and describe an instance of your own behavior that might be or have been the result of this particular type of social influence.

Please answer each question one-half page each (double-spaced) for a total of three pages (not including Title and References Pages if you choose to include them). For multiple choice questions, CLEARLY indicate your response (a, b, c, or d) so that you do not have to search and try to determine the response in your short answer explanation. Number each response so each that it is clear where one question ends and the next question starts.

1. According to Aronson’s analysis of the Challenger disaster, which of the following most likely did NOT contribute to the disaster?

a. NASA had already conducted two dozen successful launches.

b. A schoolteacher was on board, which had created more publicity than normal.

c. At NASA, a lift-off decision was a more desirable decision than a delay.

d. NASA engineers assured management that all safety measures had been taken.

Explain why you selected this answer.

2. Aronson and O’Leary conducted a study designed to encourage water conservation among male students showering at the university field house. Under what conditions were students less likely to conserve water? Explain the conditions under which students were more likely to conserve water (by turning off the shower while soaping up).

3. Why did Milgram conduct his experiments on obedience? What features, according to Article #4 in Readings About the Social Animal, helped to account for the high levels of obedience displayed by Milgram’s subjects?

4. Define and give examples of compliance, identification, and internalization. Which of these has the most permanent influence on an individual’s behavior? Select one of these responses and describe an instance of your own behavior that might be or have been the result of this particular type of social influence.

5. Why don’t bystanders come to the aid of victims of injury or crime? Summarize the reasons for non-intervention by bystanders. Summarize the conditions under which some bystanders do respond to someone in distress.
