6-1 Discussion: Media, Technology, Peer Pressure, Violence, and Current Events

In your post, consider how a potential media stronghold over children and adolescents could lead to depressive symptoms.

For example, think about the media and its obsession with thinness, and particularly how this impacts female adolescents and the young-adult population. What do you think the relation is between over-viewing of idealized and unrealistic media portrayals and depressive symptoms?

Explain how rapidly depressive symptoms can lead to troublesome behaviors in direct correlation to media influence. Also reference co-morbid disorders that could potentially develop, such as eating disorders. Please research at least one real-world example to support your claims.

6-2 Short Paper: Media vs. Parenting  $15.00 3 pages and atleat 3 citaitions

With reference to relevant literature from the Module Six resources and other research, argue your position on the topic of “media vs. parenting.”

In your short paper, analyze this statement and provide four arguments that either support or refute it: “The role of parents is being sidelined by mass media as they compete to fulfill their responsibility as parents.”

Conception to Birth

There are three major stages from conception to birth.  They are the germinal stage (first two weeks following conception); the embryonic stage (until the end of the eighth week); and the fetal stage (until birth). Complete a table, like the one below, making sure to identify the development that happens in each stage and how the development is affected by outside influences, both positive and negative.  Finally, list your recommendations for the healthy development of a child.

Stages  Development  Influences Affects Recommendations
Germinal
Embryonic
Fetal

Share the link to the article/s you found, and provide a brief synopsis of the article. Describe how you might be able to incorporate some of those practices into your I/O practice.

The subject of diversity, inclusion, and equity has appeared on the top trends list published by the Society for Organizational and Industrial Psychology (SIOP) for several years. I/O practitioners have the opportunity to aid organizations who are working to address this issues and build a stronger, more productive and more inclusive work environment.

Earlier in the unit, you viewed an interview with Rudy Mendez, Vice-President of Diversity Initiatives for McDonalds. In it he discusses the importance of implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives in organizations, not only from the viewpoint of social responsibility, but also from a business perspective, as a way to grow a more successful organization.

For this discussion, use the Capella Library to find an article that addresses steps taken by different organizations to address the issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity that have resulted in benefits to different groups and has improved organizational performance.

  • Share the link to the article/s you found, and provide a brief synopsis of the article.
  • Describe how you might be able to incorporate some of those practices into your I/O practice.
  • Share any personal experiences you have had regarding the issues of diversity, inclusion and equity in your current or personal workplace, and the results of any efforts undertaken by the organization to address the issues.

Provide a brief synopsis of your social problem and identification of a policy that you submitted in Week 3.

Writing a proposal that functions as a focus of change is a significant part of being a social worker/policy advocate. This is your opportunity to use your advocacy skills to change and improve the lives of others.

In this Assignment, you write a proposal for some form of social advocacy that will seek to change a social, organizational, or legislative policy. The proposal may also involve advocacy for the amelioration of a social problem. The purpose of this assignment is to thoughtfully and thoroughly plan how you will advocate changing a social problem or policy that is of interest to you.

The policy practice/advocacy can take whatever form you wish and can be on any level: agency, community, state, or federal. You will submit a prospectus (3–4 pages) that describes the problem that is being addressed and the expected advocacy activities. You are expected to carry out the activities planned in this proposal and will present on your actions and outcomes in the Week 10 Final Project assignment.

Prepare an informational brochure that identifies the most important facts that older adults, staff, caregivers, families, and public need to know about elder abuse prevention and caregiver stress.

I need someone to create a 1 double-sided tri-fold brochure. Then a 3 page Reflection Paper that includes a minimum of five references in APA format.
Brochure
1) Prepare an informational brochure that identifies the most important facts that older adults, staff, caregivers, families, and public need to know about elder abuse prevention and caregiver stress.
2)  Evaluate the elder abuse community resources supporting aging, families, and elder care.
For your brochure, you will identify the most important considerations for preventing elder abuse and identify helpful caregiver stress management resources. Address the following questions in your brochure:
What are the most important considerations for preventing elder abuse?
What are three to four important facts that individuals and families need to know about elder abuse prevention?
Why is it important to evaluate caregiver stress and provide caregiver stress management resources?
What types of elder abuse prevention resources and caregiver stress management resources are available and how do they provide support to older adults, staff, caregivers, families, and the public?
What are three to four valuable resources that older adults, staff, caregivers, families, and public should know about elder abuse prevention (including at least one way to report suspected elder abuse in your own community)?
Reflection Paper
Then, develop a separate 3 page Reflection Paper that evaluates the resources you included in the brochure. Do the resources provide adequate support to prevent or report elder abuse? What areas are lacking? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the resources?
