You will write an 8–10-page paper in current APA style—submitted through SafeAssign—summarizing an aspect of a selected psychophysiological topic from the textbook.

The Research Paper is the capstone assignment for this course and is to be a written representative of the research conducted on the psychophysiological aspects of an issue chosen from the textbook. Using the services of Liberty University’s Online Library, you will select and read at least 5 recent journal articles on the chosen issue. You will then summarize your findings in an 8–10-page paper, written in current APA style, and submitted through SafeAssign. This assignment is separated into 2 parts: the Title Page, Abstract, and References submission, and the completed Research Paper submission.

1. Title Page, Abstract, and References

It is important for you to use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association as you format your paper. The Title Page is to reflect the formatting of the current APA manual with a running head and page number. The Abstract is to consist of pertinent information regarding the paper and must not exceed the number of words outlined by the current APA manual. The references must be journal articles that are found in the APA PsycNET database found on the research portal of Liberty University’s Online Library. This portal can be accessed via the web by all Liberty University students. The Title Page, Abstract, and References submission must reflect proper and current APA formatting.

The Title Page, Abstract, and References are due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 3.

2. Research Paper

You will write an 8–10-page paper in current APA style—submitted through SafeAssign—summarizing an aspect of a selected psychophysiological topic from the textbook. The final paper must include the pages turned in for the first step with the corrections given from the instructor made, or the feedback given from the instructor followed. You are encouraged to use APA headings in the body of the paper. The headings outline the paper for the reader and are encouraged but not required. The 8–10 pages include the abstract, the body, and the conclusion. The title and references pages are not included in the total page number requirement.

Define the issue that you consider critical to the success of the new company.2. What do you imagine are some of the details that define that issue?

Here is the scenario from You Decide.  It is important that you get into the You Decide space and review the other information.   This basic story will get you started…. It is now six months after the acquisition of Consolidated Products, Inc. by ABC Plastics, Inc. The size of the workforce has been reduced by approximately 30% and two of six manufacturing facilities have been closed. Due to aggressive cost-cutting, ABC was able to lower prices and is regaining market share by winning back customers who had been doing business with Asian competitors. Productivity levels throughout the company have dropped precipitously since the merger, and due to lower productivity of the workforce, the merged company is not yet profitable. However, the future looks bright assuming that productivity levels can be restored to the level existing at the time of the original merger, or increased above those levels. Our mission is to approach this scenario as if we are OD (Organization Development) practitioners.  OD is concerned with planned “interventions” to improve productivity, relationships, culture, etc. related to organization as a whole, teams, and individual workers.  Consider the key terms that define the OD related issues:  merger, lower productivity, merged company not profitable, need to win back customers….well those are enough problems to explore in this case.  Consider these questions:1.  Define the issue that you consider critical to the success of the new company.2. What do you imagine are some of the details that define that issue?3. Explain your OD intervention to help the new teams of workers to function effectively and get at the heart of their major concern as found in the scenario4. How would you work with some of the characters in this case to help them accept the changes and be productive?

Provide your initial response in an audio format or a video format. Then, your remaining two responses may be text-based. Remember, your remaining responses must be on different days in order to earn full credit.

Compare and contrast your understanding of the differences in values of employee management within public organizations and for-profit organizations.

Introduction

In this unit, you will be introduced to human relations systems that have developed in this country since 1700 and explore the traditional values of working in the public sector (Klingner, Nalbandian, & Llorens, 2010). You will discover that the patrician age has given way to the partnership era, and you will explore its popularity. This understanding of the past is critical for you to begin the development of a job design in today’s public workplace climate. A part of that understanding is knowing what is similar and what is dissimilar between the public sector and the for-profit sector. A major part of the difference is embedded in the ethics of delivering services to the public.

To conclude this unit, you will explore a case study of the management failures of the CIA during a time of crisis caused by failures in the understanding and enforcement of a culture of public service ethics and methods of delivering services to the nation.
