What strategies can you use to ensure that your personal values will not influence your practice with Eboni? How would you address the crisis that Eboni is experiencing?

Being culturally sensitive by respecting your clients’ spirituality and religious traditions, in general, is an important professional competence (Furness & Gilligan, 2010). Applying your spiritual awareness to a specific client case, however, may require even greater skill. In this assignment, you consider how you might address a client’s crisis that includes a spiritual or religious component.

To prepare for this Assignment, review this week’s media about Eboni Logan’s visit with her school social worker.

By Day 7

Submit a 2- to 4-page paper that answers the following questions:

  1. As Eboni’s social worker, would you include spirituality and religion in your initial assessment? Why or why not?
  2. What strategies can you use to ensure that your personal values will not influence your practice with Eboni?
  3. How would you address the crisis that Eboni is experiencing?

Support your Assignment with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.

For this discussion, you will examine ethical issues encountered by clinical and counseling psychologists in the digital age. Begin by reviewing the cases of Dr. Arnold and Dr. Washington listed below and selecting one of these ethical dilemmas for analysis.

Prior to beginning work on this week’s discussion, please review Standard 3: Human Relations (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. in the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. Please also read the Asay and Lal (2014) “Who’s Googled Whom? Trainees’ Internet and Online Social Networking Experiences, Behaviors, and Attitudes with Clients and Supervisors,” Harris and Robinson Kurpius (2014) “Social Networking and Professional Ethics: Client Searches, Informed Consent, and Disclosure,” and Taylor, McMinn, Bufford, and Chang (2010) “Psychologists’ Attitudes and Ethical Concerns Regarding the Use of Social Networking Web Sites” articles.

For this discussion, you will examine ethical issues encountered by clinical and counseling psychologists in the digital age. Begin by reviewing the cases of Dr. Arnold and Dr. Washington listed below and selecting one of these ethical dilemmas for analysis.

Case 1
Dr. Arnold is a clinical psychologist who specializes in child and adolescent issues. From time to time, she provides consultation on high lethality cases within the juvenile court system. Recently, she was referred a case involving a 15-year-old male who has a history of aggression, angry outburst, destructive behavior, and cyberstalking.  Concerned for her safety and well-being, Dr. Arnold input the client’s name into a search engine, which yielded the client’s social network page. Dr. Arnold is uncertain whether or not to look at the client’s social network page.

Case 2
Dr. Washington is a counseling psychologist who specializes in trauma and self-harming behavior. Recently, he received a “friend request” from a former client who he provided individual therapy to six months ago. Dr. Washington opted not to accept the “friend request,” but considered sending a private message to the client with the social networking policy from his informed consent.  Dr. Washington is uncertain whether or not to send the private message to the client.

In your initial post, assume the role of a colleague to the doctor named and analyze the ethical issues encountered in your chosen case. Given the situation described in the case study, recommend how your colleague should proceed. Provide support for your response by citing the required articles for this discussion. Consider the current and potential actions of your colleague and explain whether or not he or she is currently, or potentially will be, in violation of the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. Provide support for your explanation by citing Standard 3: Human Relations (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. in the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. Explain how your colleague might avoid this type of ethical dilemma in the future. Describe what policy or policies you might put in place if you were your colleague.

Discuss the basic tenets of Erikson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development.  Do you believe personality develops in stages similar to his theory?

Will someone please complete these 5 discussion questions? Each reply has to be a total of 200 words. Please look over questions, and reply to each on in the most authentic way possible. Thank you

PRE-NATAL TO BIRTH

Imagine you work with high-risk expectant mothers educating them about the development processes of their unborn child.  How might you advise a first-time mother who is engaging in one or more behaviors that may be potentially harmful to her and/or the child.  What developmental issues might you discuss with her to help her make more informed choices to protect and improve the development of the unborn child? Include both positive and negative perspectives you might include in your discussion with the mother.

COGNITIVE GROWTH (INFORMATIONAL PROCESSING)

Briefly discuss what information processing approaches to cognitive development are, and how to do they differ from those of Piaget and Vygotsky?

Additionally, choose one of the following processes and discuss the process using an informational process approach.

Attention

Memory

Learning

You can use the concepts discussed in your textbook to do this, but do not simply repeat what is in the book.  Include applications, examples, or other additional information that demonstrates your understanding of the approach.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Compare and contrast the Learning Theory Approach (nurture) and Chomsky’s Nativist Approach (nature) to language development.  Discuss the “pros and cons” of each approach.   Include in your discussion whether or not you believe basic language is universal and genetic, or socially learned.  Would you suggest one of these is the best explanation of language development, or would you choose an “Interactionist” (combined) approach?  Explain your answer.

INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPMENT

Do you believe modern I.Q. scales are appropriate and adequate measures of intelligence?  Why or why not?  Include concepts of the development of intelligence in your answer.  Would you propose a different means of measuring intelligence?  If so, how would that look?

PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT (ERIKSON)

Discuss the basic tenets of Erikson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development.  Do you believe personality develops in stages similar to his theory?  Give reasons to support your answer.   You may want to use sources outside of the textbook to help with this answer (be sure to cite any used and include the full reference at the bottom of the post).

Also include at least one scriptural example that indicates someone who may have changed their personality or way of thinking at least to some degree later in life.

Review this week’s Learning Resources, focusing on similarities and differences among the five types of group counseling.

Please no plagiarism and make sure you are able to access all resource on your own before you bid. One of the references must come from Corey, M. S., Corey, G., & Corey, C. (2018). You are expected to include at least one scholarly and peer-reviewed resource outside of those provided in the readings for each discussion post. I need this completed by 06/07/18 at 6pm.

Assignment: Types of Groups

Groups are an excellent choice for helping people change. Some groups are relatively short term and designed to meet the needs of specific populations, while others are focused on interpersonal learning and may be less structured. The group leader must be knowledgeable about the various types of groups, the strengths and limitations of each, and the unique leadership skills and training required to lead each type of group. Unlike a classroom setting, where the emphasis is on the acquisition of knowledge, a counseling group is organized to help people solve problems and make personal changes. While psychoeducation groups typically include a curriculum and an educational component, the interpersonal relationships formed during the group are an integral part of the process. Strategies and interventions for the work of the group are based on a scholar-practitioner model and utilize empirical evidence from the research.

For this Assignment, you will compare and contrast the five types of counseling groups presented in this week’s Learning Resources.

To prepare:

· Review this week’s Learning Resources, focusing on similarities and differences among the five types of group counseling.

· Download the document Types of Group Work from the Learning Resources and use this document to complete this Assignment.

The Assignment:

· Complete the chart in the Types of Group Work document, comparing the five types of group work along the criteria presented. Be sure to include an APA cover page with your table.
