PSY 3094 Psychological Measurement – Scale Construction Project

The aim of this project is to develop a scale measuring a construct related to psychology and to report its psychometric properties. You will work in groups and prepare a report including the following componets given in the table below. The Assessment Rubric summarizes the details that should be included in each part of the report and how they will be graded. Please submit a copy of this rubric with your paper for grading.

Describe at least three specific ways you will apply what you have learned this term to your personal and professional life.

DISCUSSION POST :

How have your beliefs and attitudes changed? You may find that you now think differently about statistics you read or hear about in the news and advertisements. You may have a better understanding of research articles you read in your coursework. Hopefully, you have become a more critical consumer of information. Take some time to reflect on how you have grown and learned this term, and plan how you will incorporate your new knowledge into your everyday life.

By Day 3

Post a response to the following:

  1. Reflecting on what you have learned over the past six weeks, explain how your perception of statistics has changed.
  2. Describe at least three specific ways you will apply what you have learned this term to your personal and professional life.
  3. Explain how what you have learned in this course will impact your approach to at least one of the features of social change (Scholarship, Systems Thinking, Reflection, Practice, Collaboration, Advocacy, Civic Engagement, Humane Ethics), described in the Expanding Our Understanding of Social Change report in this week’s Required Resources.

Be sure to fully explain your rationale for each of your answers, and support your ideas with evidence from the text and Learning Resources.

Provide an APA reference list.

. Explain how you will implement the decision made and reflect on whether this option was the most effective.

No Course hero or Prewritten papers.

When faced with a problem, what do you do to solve it? This assignment asks you to apply a six-step to problem solving process to a specific problem scenario. You will write a paper that presents a synthesis of your ideas about solving the problem using this systematic approach. As Voltaire said, “No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking.”

Scenario 4: You are a sales representative for a company that encourages staff to log time in the field and away from the office. You are expected to begin and end your day at the office. You notice that each day when you arrive and return another co-worker is already there, and you wonder whether this person spends most of his / her time at the office. At your weekly sales meeting, you are informed of your co-workers’ outstanding sales performance. You suspect that this co-worker is spending more time flattering the boss instead of working leads in the field, and as a result is getting the best client referrals. Your own sales numbers have steadily decreased since this other sales representative was hired.

Review the six-step problem solving process outlined in the webtext, based on the article “The Problem Solving Process” located at http://www.gdrc.org/decision/problem-solve.html:

  • Step One: Define the problem
  • Step Two: Analyze the problem
  • Step Three: Generate options
  • Step Four: Evaluate options
  • Step Five: Make your decision
  • Step Six: Implement and reflect

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:
1. Define the problem in the scenario that you have chosen.
2. Analyze the problem in the scenario.
3. Generate options for solving the problem in the scenario.
4. Evaluate the options for solving the problem.
5. Decide on the best option for solving the problem.
6. Explain how you will implement the decision made and reflect on whether this option was the most effective.

The paper should follow guidelines for clear and organized writing:

  • Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph.
  • Address main ideas in body paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences.
  • Adhere to standard rules of English grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and spelling.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • This course requires use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format is different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Recognize the hindrances to the decision-making process in order to apply problem-solving skills to a variety of situations.
  • Create written work utilizing the concepts of critical thinking.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in critical thinking skills and informal logic.

Read the newspaper account, and discuss what sorts of psychological techniques the man is using on the son.

Signature Assignment: Final Research Paper

My topic and thesis statement: Today society has a stereotyped method to see ladies and they are being influenced by the manner in which they see themselves throughout the years.

The purpose of this assignment is to draft and submit a comprehensive and complete APA research paper. The paper is written to report on that research and offer answer(s) to the original question.

Your final paper should be 4–5 pages (not including the required cover page and reference page) and include the following:

  • Headings
  • Title page
  • Abstract
  • Pose the research question (introduction)
  • Discuss the thesis statement/present the information and research/draw conclusions (body)

Reference page with a minimum of three scholarly references and appropriately used in-text citations for each. Be sure to plan enough time for proofreading and editing.

When I begin talking about the Behavioral Model of
socialization, I refer to a case from the newspaper in which a man uses
many psychological techniques to impact his child’s behavior in
particular ways.  I am attaching a copy of the story here.  Read the
newspaper account, and discuss what sorts of psychological techniques
the man is using on the son.   How effective do you think he is in using
these techniques?    Father accused of using son as a robot against mother.docPreview the document

Cautionary Note:  In one semester,  I found that some people had an
emotional reaction to the content of the story, more than I recall
seeing in past years.  Keep in mind that what what we are looking at
here is how he used the techniques.   I think we would probably all
agree that his intentions are not upstanding, but why did it work so
well?
