Explain which of these interventions you might choose to use and why. Consider client values and your clinical expertise and how those might affect your decision of which intervention to use.

Once you graduate and obtain your first job out of your Master of Social Work program, you may be asked to identify the gaps in services at your new agency. You may be asked to create a new group or help to identify a new evidence-based intervention that can be introduced to the clients. Understanding how to research the current literature, and then choose and evaluate an intervention, is an important component of being a successful social worker. For this course, you have researched new and interesting interventions that are currently being used with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Further, you have explored the importance of connecting theory to practice.

For this Assignment, use will practice steps in Evidence-Based Practice. 1) You will think of a practice problem. 2) You then conduct a literature review on available research. 3) You will evaluate the evidence to determine which intervention to use. 4) You will consider client values and your clinical expertise. 5) You will think about what you hope the client gains from this intervention (i.e., decreased depression, increased quality of life, decreased PTSD symptoms) and consider how you might measure this change.

To prepare:

  • Choose a population of interest to you. ADOLESCENTS, is the population.
    • Children
    • Adolescents
    • Adults
    • Elderly/Aging
  • Choose a presenting problem (depression, family conflict, homelessness, etc.) related to the population of interest.
  • Conduct a literature review focused on the presenting problem within the population of interest.

By Day 7

Submit an 8- to 10-page scholarly paper supported with a minimum of six peer-reviewed articles as references. In the paper, you should:

  • Briefly describe the population and presenting problem you are focusing on for this assignment.
  • Provide a review of the articles you reviewed from this project and explain what you learned from conducting this research.
  • Briefly describe at least 2 evidence-based interventions currently used for your chosen population when addressing this particular problem. Provide supporting references when explaining the evidence behind the interventions.
  • Explain which of these interventions you might choose to use and why.
    • Consider client values and your clinical expertise and how those might affect your decision of which intervention to use.
  • Describe how you might apply the specific skills and techniques of the chosen intervention.
  • Briefly explain how you could measure the outcomes of this intervention.
  • Explain any cultural considerations that you need to take into account when working with this population or the particular presenting problem.
  • Discuss how the Code of Ethics applies when working with this particular presenting problem and population.
  • Explain how you would apply a trauma-informed lens when working with this population.

Support your Final Project with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.

The Final Project will be evaluated according to the Final Project Rubric, located below and in the Course Information area.

describe a protective factor that could optimize the older adult’s health and resilience. Justify your response with references to this week’s Learning Resources and the current literature. Be specific.

Please no plagiarism and make sure you are able to access all resource on your own before you bid. One of the references must come from Broderick and Blewitt (2015). I need this completed by 02/06/18 at 5pm. My assigned family is Jeong.

Discussion 1: Factors Influencing Development in Older Adults

The transition from middle to late adulthood is characterized by a growing number of life changes. Many parents become “empty nesters” as their children, now adults themselves, move out and start their own lives. Retirement might be greeted begrudgingly or with open arms. Inevitable declines in health, physical ability, and cognitive function become more apparent. Much like earlier life events, one’s reaction to these changes will depend on a multitude of factors; however, what is unique to this age range is that many of these changes will be steeped in loss. This can include the loss of a spouse, a long-time friend, a passionate career, a pleasurable lifestyle, a trade, or a hobby.

As a counselor, how might you engage older adults to thrive during this phase of their lives?

For this Discussion, review the media, “Late Adulthood.” Focus your final efforts on the older adult in your assigned family. Before crafting your post, also consider the points raised in the media, “Perspectives: The Golden Years.”

Note: Identify the last name of your assigned client family in the title of your post.

Post by Day 3 a description of two developmental factors that impact late adulthood. Explain how these factors might impact emotional and psychological well-being. Then, describe a protective factor that could optimize the older adult’s health and resilience. Justify your response with references to this week’s Learning Resources and the current literature. Be specific.

Review the journal readings from Modules 5 and 6 of this course. You may wish to create annotations for the readings from Module 7 for use in the synthesis process.

Details:

Synthesis is the act of creating something new from multiple existing entities. Synthesis of research, then, is creating a new idea from existing ideas. It is a process developed through time and practice. In this assignment, you will apply the synthesis process to the journal readings from modules 5-7. Keep in mind that Several of Freud’s early colleagues and supporters splintered away from his model for different reasons.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

  • Refer to the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 6 assignment along with any feedback from your instructor.
  • Review the journal readings from Modules 5 and 6 of this course. You may wish to create annotations for the readings from Module 7 for use in the synthesis process.
  • This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
  • Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
  • You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Directions:

Locate the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 6 assignment. Using the outline you developed, the information from the annotated bibliography, and the feedback provided by your instructor, write a paper (2,000-2,250 words) that synthesizes all of the articles assigned in the Modules 5-7 of this course. Do that by including the following:

  1. A statement of common themes addressed in each of the articles.
  2. A statement of the conclusions that can be drawn when the articles are taken together as a single entity. What is the overall message of the group of articles? Focus specifically on the key aspects of Freudian thought which caused these other theorists to distance themselves from Freud’s views and influence. Consider also the major differences among themselves which caused them to diverge from one another.

Evaluate how the seven APSAC evidence-based practice guidelines may address the safety and needs of victims, their family members, and perpetrators of child maltreatment.

3/27

In this Assignment, you will review a comprehensive service delivery plan developed by the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC). You will summarize the key details of this plan to illustrate how the plan reduces child maltreatment, provides treatment for those affected by child maltreatment, and could be implemented in the community.

To prepare for this Assignment:

·  Read the Learning Resources, particularly the Report of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) Task Force on Evidence-Based Service Planning Guidelines for Child Welfare and the case illustration included as part of the report.

·  Consider the needs of both victims and perpetrators of child maltreatment, as well as the family members of the children who have been abused.

The Assignment: 2- to 4-page paper

Imagine that you are a forensic psychology professional in a community where the court has asked for your input on how to intervene with child maltreatment. Draft a report with recommendations you would make to the court for a service delivery plan based on the APSAC Report. You can incorporate examples or illustrations from other Learning Resources into your report. Include the following bolded components as headings in your report:

·  Explain the goals of service delivery planning to intervene with child maltreatment (e.g., safety, permanence, and well-being).

·  Explain the role of evidence-based psychosocial interventions for victims and perpetrators of child maltreatment.

·  Provide examples or illustrations of evidence-based psychosocial interventions for the victim, family members, and the perpetrator(s).

·  Evaluate how the seven APSAC evidence-based practice guidelines may address the safety and needs of victims, their family members, and perpetrators of child maltreatment.
