Provide citations to back up your reasoning. Support your argument with evidence and clear reasoning. You must use APA formatting rules as appropriate.

I am in need of a APA style paper based on the downsides and disadvantages of Psychoanalysis in Psychology.

INSTRUCTIONS:

A key lesson in this class is that science is about always questioning. Nothing should ever be assumed as unquestionable fact. To do this, you will produce a work demonstrating critical thinking skills and thoughtful scholarly examination of some problem in psychology.

The assignment is this: find something in psychology that you think is incorrect. This may be a theory, a research finding, or a set of research findings (keep in mind a wise adage, with a twist: you can’t argue with data, but you can argue how to interpret the data). Write a paper explaining this topic and what the problems are with it. Do not produce a simple opinion piece. Provide citations to back up your reasoning. Support your argument with evidence and clear reasoning. You must use APA formatting rules as appropriate.

There is no length requirement: in science we write until we have completed making the point; page limits are arbitrary and meaningless. Tips: start with a statement in your opening paragraph that clearly describes the area of interest and the problem you have identified. Spend some time providing a descriptive background of the area of interest before detailing the problem and evidence. In addition to supporting your criticisms, provide solutions, whether it be a different theory, or a revision to research methodology or statistical analysis, or proposals for new experiments to be done.

Remember, the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition, is the only authoritative reference on APA style. You shouldn’t get a degree in Psychology without one. These papers will be submitted using the Turnitin tool built into webcourses. A similarity score will be calculated.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is a very open-ended assignment and requires a bit of original thought on your part.

The goal, is for you to identify some topic, theory, line of research, idea, etc that you have encountered in your studies of psychology that you think is problematic, and to write a paper explaining your position. Your argument should be bolstered by strong reasoning and evidence (citing peer reviewed primary sources; never cite textbooks or other secondary sources).

The idea is completely up to you, but it should be something that is current and relevant to modern psychology, not a historical idea (it’s a bit trite to keep repeating the same critiques of Freud, for example, over and over).

One example is the current concern over the replication crisis in Psychology. What sorts of factors, whether theoretical or cultural, might be at play here?  If you do a google search (or google scholar) for psychology replication crisis you’ll find a lot of good articles about (esp if you use google scholar, which will link to peer reviewed articles).

Describe examples of when it might be necessary to seek the assistance of referral agencies.

Discussion 1

Your post should be at least 200–250 words in length and should extend the discussion of the group supported by your course materials and/or other appropriate resources.

Creating a Marketing Plan

Administrators play an important role in marketing the early childhood program they administer. As an administrator, you will be responsible for creating a marketing plan that will help you grow the program you administrate. To create a marketing plan, administrators need to research the market, complete a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis, and identify target audiences. After reading Chapter 16 from the course textbook, please respond to all three parts of the discussion described below:

Part 1: Part 1 of the Discussion focuses on how to create a marketing plan. Review the components of a well-developed marketing plan described in this week’s readings and read the resource, Developing a Business Marketing Plan. Describe the steps involved in completing a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis. What kind of information is gained from a SWOT Analysis? How can the information be used to promote your program? How can the information be used to strengthen public relations efforts?

Part 2: For Part 2 of the Discussion, you will focus on how to use a SWOT analysis for strategic planning. A SWOT Analysis reveals potential threats to program quality and growth. What marketing strategies would you use to address these threats and minimize their impact?

Part 3: For Part 3 of the Discussion, you will focus on identifying target audiences to draw interest to your early childhood program. After completing a SWOT Analysis, you will need to decide where, how and to whom to market your program (Sciarra, Lynch, Adams, & Dorsey, 2016, p. 341). Keep in mind that “not everyone sees through the same eyes or hears through the same ears” (Wassom, 2004, p. 6). When trying to market your program to families and stakeholders, administrators need to consider generational factors. With this in mind, what traditional and social media marketing strategies would you use to target Boomers, Generation X-ers, and Millennials?

Discussion 2

Your post should be at least 200–250 words in length and should extend the discussion of the group supported by your course materials and/or other appropriate resources.

Family, Volunteer, and Community Involvement

Part 1: Part 1 of the Discussion focuses on the early childhood administrator’s effective communication with families through written materials. Parent handbooks provide families with basic program information. These handbooks are usually shared with families during the enrollment process to acquaint families with the program’s philosophy, program structure, activities and services offered, hours of operation, safety and health practices, guidelines for participation, discipline policy, and payment schedules. In addition to the basic information provided during the enrollment process, ongoing communication is needed to increase family involvement and engagement in early childhood programs. Discuss the communication tools and strategies you would use for the program you wish to administrate to inform families of program needs, upcoming events, opportunities for involvement, and progress of the children. Consider face-to-face strategies as well as communicating through the use of technology. What challenges might you face in communicating with busy parents, diverse parents, and demanding parents?

Part 2: For Part 2 of the Discussion, you will focus on the important role early childhood administrators play in seeking services and resources to support children and their families. Describe examples of when it might be necessary to seek the assistance of referral agencies. What types of community services and resources are available to support children and families in need? Describe the steps an administrator should take when working with referral agencies.

Part 3: For Part 3 of the Discussion, you will focus on the opportunities for educating and supporting parents, families, and communities through professional organizations. Early childhood administrators strive to support and engage families and communities. In doing so, reciprocal relationships result. Discuss why family and community involvement is important to early childhood programs. What are the benefits of reciprocal relationships? For the program you are interested in being an administrator, describe the specific strategies you will use to increase family and community involvement? Discuss potential benefits and challenges of involving family and community in your program. What measures will you take to encourage degrees of participation that are appropriate and comfortable to individual family members? How can working with professional organizations benefit the children and families of early childhood programs?

Discuss what you think the outcome of the case should be and why. Should the therapist return the items? Give the client more money for the jewelry? Why or why not?

The following Course Outcomes will be assessed with this Assignment.

PS497-2: Explore basic methodology in psychology including research design, data analysis, and the interpretation and evaluation of findings.

PS497-4: Apply the appropriate psychological principles, theories, and concepts to personal, social, and organizational issues and problems.

PS497-5: Examine the underlying ethical standards, values, and considerations in theory and practice in the disciplines of psychology.

As you have learned throughout your courses, adherence to ethical principles is paramount to your practice as an addiction professional; however, sometimes, this can be more challenging than one might imagine!

Please read the following case study:

A client in recovery for Alcohol Use Disorder wanted to buy a house and started selling her mother’s antique jewelry to raise capital. The client showed her therapist one of the better items of jewelry for sale, the therapist asked the price and the client quoted a price that seemed reasonable given the number of rubies. Therapist bought the item for the quoted price and paid in cash. Over a year passed since successful termination of therapy when the client called therapist stating that she learned the value of the item was worth $2000 more than agreed upon and she requested that amount. The therapist was astounded and she refused.

Address the following in your paper:

  • Describe at least two potential ethical issues.
  • Discuss what you think the outcome of the case should be and why.
    • Should the therapist return the items? Give the client more money for the jewelry? Why or why not?

Be sure your paper is 5–7 pages in APA format. Include at least three academic references. Your paper should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.

How might these methodological considerations affect the research findings and the conclusions drawn from them? How does this article fit in with your paper? How did it influence your own ideas about your paper?

Suggestibility: do television ads change behavior?

Locate at least five articles from peer-reviewed journals that pertain to your question that will be used to write the introduction section of your research proposal.

***I would encourage you to think about how some of the compliance techniques could be applicable here–take a look at Bob Cialdini’s work for some research in his area that I think you’ll find helpful….***

Submit these five citations in the form of an APA-style reference page. Under each citation, write one paragraph summarizing the main points of the article. As you read your articles, keep the following questions at hand; these will help you generate the information about each article.

  • What were the topic/research questions being investigated?
  • How was the study conducted (participants, materials, procedure, etc.)?
  • What did the results reveal?
  • How might these methodological considerations affect the research findings and the conclusions drawn from them?
  • How does this article fit in with your paper? How did it influence your own ideas about your paper?

Based on your reading of the literature, what do you expect to find?

Include a hypothesis and a title page for your submission.

Submit your paper to the Submissions Area by the due date assigned. All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.
