Elaborate on the investigational method you chose and the target systems or conditions you have identified to be studied by this technique.

This discussion is an analysis of the methods used by neuroscience investigators to study the biological basis of psychological function. Prior to completing your initial post, complete this week’s readings in your course textbook and watch Multicellular Organisms and their Nervous Systems and Discovering the Human Brain:  New pathways to Neuroscience, with Susan Bookheimer, PhD. These materials examine various investigational methods such as imaging technology, laboratory science techniques, and special studies that provide information about structure (nervous system anatomy and cellular structure) and function (nervous system and cellular function). Evaluate the methods described and select one method you think is the most powerful or useful for examining the relationship between biology and behavior. Would this method be best used for basic research, initial diagnosis of a clinical condition, ongoing patient management, or a combination of these analytic practices? What part of the nervous system (anatomical structure, function, cellular chemistry and function) would most likely be studied using this technique? Elaborate on the investigational method you chose and the target systems or conditions you have identified to be studied by this technique.
You must use a minimum of one peer-reviewed source that was published within the last five years, documented in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Your post should be a minimum of 250 words.

Write a paper (250 words) in which you discuss both the phenomenological research methods in psychology that emerged from the philosophies of Husserl and the theorists/psychologists who developed those methods.

Phenomenological Research Methods

Details:

The quest to understand the lived experience and the philosophical structures of experience and consciousness is the focus of a movement that began in the early years of the 20th Century. The movement is called phenomenology because the movement explores the lived experience of phenomena. Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger were two of the prominent philosophers who developed this method of inquiry though each took a significantly different philosophical approach to understanding human experience. In this assignment, you will discuss the psychology research methods that emerged from the philosophies of Husserl and Heidegger and the researchers who developed those methods.

General Requirements:

  • This assignment requires that at least two scholarly research sources related to this topic, and at least one in-text citation from each source be included.

Directions:

Write a paper (250 words) in which you discuss both the phenomenological research methods in psychology that emerged from the philosophies of Husserl and the theorists/psychologists who developed those methods.

  1. A discussion of at least two phenomenological research methods that emerged from the phenomenological philosophy of Husserl. What were the central tenets of each method? What is known about the theorists/psychologists who developed each method?

What point or message was Frank attempting to send to his brothers and the community when he left the restaurant and shot the man in the head on the street sidewalk?

Students are required to rent the movie American Gangster, starring Denzel Washington, which tells the story of Frank Lucas’ life of drugs, crime, and addiction, to write a reaction paper. Your analysis should discuss the relationships among criminality, drug use, and addiction. Explain why this illegal business model has survived decades of various law enforcement efforts to eradicate.

Students can obtain this resource from Amazon, instant video, Netflix, or VuDu. The paper should be a 5-6 page reaction paper (excluding title and reference pages) about the movie addressing the key points listed below. It must include at least three scholarly references and/or one or two case law citations that would be applicable in this case study.

Address each of the following key points:

  • Did Frank Lucas’ childhood in the South and his interactions with the police play a part in his own justification that resulted in his criminal career?
  • From an organizational, corporate, and business perspective, why did Frank Lucas break away from the teachings of Bumpy Johnson after his death and what factors influenced his decision to cut out middle man and the other Crime Families?
  • Frank decided to employ his family members and other close relatives. What could be Frank’s rationale for doing this, knowing that his closest relatives’ lives would be put at risk? How would the social network analysis model under the criminological approach be useful in explaining this ideal?
  • What point or message was Frank attempting to send to his brothers and the community when he left the restaurant and shot the man in the head on the street sidewalk?
  • Report ethical and professionalism issues that were violated by some parts of the criminal justice system. What would be your recommendations to correct these ethical concerns?

KRISTA
Everything is literal for my daughter, Krista. When she was 5, I said that she had “rats” in her hair. she began screaming, “Get them out”, I explained that people say that when you have knots in your hair. A few days later she asked me to get the knots outs of her hair, but one knot was really bad. When I told her I couldn’t get the knot out, she informed me that the knot must be “double knotted”
When she was 8, my husband said, “I have a backache”. She began to argue with him, informing him that he didn’t have a backache. The argument was getting pretty heated, so I asked my husband to stop and see what she meant. I asked her why she thought Dad didn’t have a backache. She grabbed his hands and said, “Look, there is nothing in his hands!” To her “to have” meant that your hands had to be holding an object. She didn’t understand a more abstract meaning of “have”, where your body could possess something such as a backache.

Moments like these continued, even though she is now 15. She was visiting a friend and was told to come home at 6:30 PM The rest of the family got home at 7 :00 and she wasn’t there. When we asked her about it she said, “But I did come home at 6:30! Then I went back”
