Write two paragraphs of minimum 500 words (total). In each of these paragraphs, reflect on one Rank category, and the skills that you most often use as Target or Agent

Only two articles are required by the professor despite what the direction says. I placed four articles just to have options on which two you would like to select.

Directions

Refer back to Chapter 2 for how to critically read research articles. In this assignment, you will begin to review the articles you found last week and provide a summary of four articles that are useful for your emerging research idea. The articles must be research studies where data was collected. Theory pieces are fine for your paper, but not for this assignment.

  1. Please use this worksheet to help you organize your summaries.
  2. Please provide all four articles as attached PDFs.

Please note, that while you are only required to submit summaries of four articles, you are responsible for having read at least 10 empirical resources that will be cited in your final research proposal. You may use this worksheet template for other articles to help you get your ideas organized.

  • Upload your article summaries here via Turnitin
  • APA format, 12 pt, Times New Roman fontWrite two paragraphs of minimum 500 words (total). In each of these paragraphs, reflect on one Rank category, and the skills that you most often use as Target or Agent. Please give one specific example for each skill. Fewer points will be awarded for general answers. Please also note that you must speak specifically about the ranking system, which means speaking to the ADRRESSING categories. Here is an example of a specific story from my life where I used awareness skills. One day my friend was over and she was hanging out with my 3 year old. As she left, she asked for a hug from the 3 year old, and he responded by turning away. This indicated that he did not want to touch her or be touched. The message was crystal clear. When he turned away, my friend approached him and reached out and slapped his butt lightly, saying, “oh, so shy, I will just pat your tooshie” He looked unhappy, and the moment passed. I was horrified, but said nothing. I was just frozen in place. I still want to bring the issue up with her, but I am not sure how to talk about it.

Children’s bodily autonomy is violated constantly in our culture. When they say “no” in their own way (by turning away very clearly) they are ignored. Even when they say no very directly, using the word “NO!” they are still ignored, and people hug, kiss, and pat them against their wishes.

Describe aspects of prenatal care, postnatal care, or both, in relation to your topic. Explain what you hope to learn from your research and writing of the final paper.

Topic Selection

This assignment is the first of three components in your course project. For more information about the course project, review the course project information and refer to the Unit 10 assignment.

For this assignment, select the topic or issue in prenatal development, postnatal development, or both, that you will research for your course project. If you choose to focus on a postnatal topic, limit your focus to the first three months after birth only.

Some examples of appropriate topics include:

  • Postpartum maternal depression: the impact on early postnatal attachment.
  • Alcohol-related neurodeveopmental disorders: the impact on prenatal and postnatal brain development.
  • Hospital births versus home births: the impact on birth outcomes.
  • The impact of multiple births as a result of in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Write a 1–2 page paper describing the development topic or issue you have selected. Address the following in your paper:

  • Justify the chosen topic in the area of prenatal development, postnatal development, or both.
  • Describe aspects of prenatal care, postnatal care, or both, in relation to your topic.
  • Explain what you hope to learn from your research and writing of the final paper.

Assignment Requirements

  • Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: References and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting standards.
  • Length of paper: 1–2 typed, double-spaced pages.

Describe the AOC workforce overall and by department in terms of diversity, job satisfaction, and technical and interpersonal skills ratings.

Assignment 2: Analyzing Organizational Archival Data

Scenario:

JetMidWest (JMW) is a successful and rapidly growing regional airline company with operations in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and major destinations in between. The company has been in operation for ten years and expanded from initial operations in and out of Chicago, which remains its headquarters today.

The heart of JMW is its Airline Operations Center (AOC) that comprises four departments, including Maintenance, Crew Services, Dispatch, and Cargo. The AOC plays a critical role to ensure that the airline’s vision of being “the first-choice provider to travelers in all of our primary markets” is achieved.

The airline entered the industry as a low-cost provider and has survived competition from major airlines, other low-cost carriers entering the market, and increased fuel prices. As JMW has grown and expanded, a culture shift occurred. Processes that were sufficient in one market became inadequate as the airline expanded into other areas. The increased number of flights, new aircraft types, and operations at a range of airport sizes and types greatly increased the complexity of operations. The scope of current leaders’ responsibilities expanded quickly, and new leaders were hired from outside the airline. As one department head put it: “We’ve been running a marathon of changes for several years now at the speed of a sprint.”

In this tumultuous environment, the executive team of JMW identified a critical need to investigate the strengths, weaknesses, and needed changes in the AOC in order to better serve customers in new markets and prepare for continued future expansion. JMW’s internal Organizational Development (OD) team conducted an initial round of interviews and focus groups of employees and managers. Three key themes were identified:

  • Employee development may be needed for both technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Some departments may have more of a technical and interpersonal skill deficit than others.
  • Female employees may be more dissatisfied with their jobs in AOC than male employees.

The OD team and the leadership team of the AOC want to further validate these qualitative themes with quantitative data analysis. They have shared some recent corporate data with you from AOC that includes employee demographic information, recent performance rating data, and general job satisfaction ratings.

Directions:

For this assignment, you will do the following:

  • Describe the AOC workforce overall and by department in terms of diversity, job satisfaction, and technical and interpersonal skills ratings.
  • Determine whether employee development is needed for technical skills.
  • Determine whether employee development is needed for interpersonal skills.
  • Determine whether there is a difference among the departments in terms of technical skills.
  • Determine whether there is a difference among the departments in terms of interpersonal skills.
  • Determine whether there is a correlation between gender and job satisfaction.
  • Report your findings and your conclusion regarding whether the initial themes are supported by the data.
  • Make a recommendation as to which of the results presents the most pressing trouble for JMW and, therefore, should be addressed first. Make sure to support your recommendation with your data analysis as well as scholarly literature.

Your final product will be a 4- to 6-page Microsoft Word document written in APA format and should utilize at least four professional literature sources. Professional literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu, .org, and .gov). In addition, you will submit a Microsoft Excel file you used to conduct all appropriate statistical analyses to help you make your determinations. Your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

How did you feel about yourself during this exercise? Reflect on your answer to these questions as you prepare your response to the Discussion prompt.

Please no plagiarism and make sure you are able to access all resource on your own before you bid. Main references come from Van Wormer, K., & Davis, D. R. (2018) and/or American Psychiatric Association. (2013). You need to have scholarly support for any claim of fact or recommendation regarding treatment. APA format also requires headings. Use the prompt each week to guide your heading titles and organize the content of your initial post under the appropriate headings. Remember to use scholarly research from peer-reviewed articles that is current. I have also attached my discussion rubric so you can see how to make full points. Please follow the instructions to get full credit for the discussion. I need this completed on 05/02/19 at 7pm.

Discussion – Week 10

Early in this course, you were instructed to identify a substance or behavior of importance to you, and to give this up for a period of 6 weeks. The purpose of this preparation was to help simulate the experience of abstinence from a substance-related or behavioral addiction. Before drafting your main Discussion post, consider the thoughts and feelings you had during the exercise, as well as the influences of family and culture on your experience. Were your systems of influence supportive of your efforts, or were they critical? What role did this have on your success or failure? How did you feel about yourself during this exercise? Reflect on your answer to these questions as you prepare your response to the Discussion prompt. (I gave up eating Patti Labelle Sweet Potato Pies. It took me a week to actually start the whole process because I did not want to stop. This pie was my snack, my dessert, my comforting food, etc, but my health was not benefiting from my intake. My system of influence were supportive and for this, I have been successful in not partaking of this food.)

Post by Day 4 a summary of your experience with abstinence, including your overall success or failure, and what individual traits (e.g., age, gender, personality) were most influential on your outcomes. Next, identify the external influences on your experience, including family, culture, and other considerations you believe were significant. Lastly, discuss how the insights you gained might add perspective to your clinical skills in working with clients who have addiction diagnoses.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.
