. Explain what inspired you about his or her story and his or her success in addressing their traumatic reactions.

Review this week’s resources, including the media on the military veterans on whom you focused throughout this course. Revisit their stories and consider their successes related to their trauma and traumatic reactions. What inspired you about their stories? If you know an active duty military personnel or veteran who inspired you, you may share this example in lieu of the media. For this Discussion, select one veteran that has inspired you.

Post( 2 to 3 pages) the identity of the veteran that you selected. Explain what inspired you about his or her story and his or her success in addressing their traumatic reactions. As a social worker, explain how this story can help to ignite your passion in working with active duty military personnel, veterans, and their families.

Be sure to support your post with specific references to the resources. If you are using additional articles, be sure to provide full APA-formatted citations for your references.

This assignment is meant to help you learn to think carefully about how and why you evaluate others’ personalities, leading to an improved ability (by the end of the course) to answer the questions: What criteria do I use to evaluate others’ personalities?

We often watch others and quickly develop an intuitive sense of their personalities.  These assessments are important because they affect the way we think of, and act towards, others.  As we will see in class, these assessments also affect the way others behave towards us.  Unfortunately, our assessments are generally done spontaneously, without much thought or analysis of others’ behavior, begging the question, “how accurate are these assessments?”

This assignment is meant to help you learn to think carefully about how and why you evaluate others’ personalities, leading to an improved ability (by the end of the course) to answer the questions: What criteria do I use to evaluate others’ personalities?  Is the evidence adequate?  Are behaviors consistent enough to warrant my conclusion?

There are TWO parts to this assignment.  Be sure to complete both.  For the 1st part of the assignment, watch the move “Shrek 1” and describe the personality of Shrek, Fiona, Donkey or Lord Farquaad using one of the theories discussed in class. You may use your text and any additional sources you feel are appropriate.  The second part of the assignment is identical to the first, but you should pick a second character and use a different theory to analyze his/her personality.  The completed paper should be approximately 6 pages in length.

In your analyses you should 1) use specific concepts from the theories and 2) describe specific scenes from the film to demonstrate that you understand the theory and can apply the theory to real-life situations.  For example, if you use a learning theory approach, you should discuss concepts such as classical conditioning, operant conditioning, conditioned and unconditioned response, conditioned and unconditioned stimuli, etc.  If you choose a Freudian approach, your paper should include topics such as id, ego and superego, psycho-sexual stages, conscious, unconscious, defense mechanisms, etc. It is NOT enough to write that your character “learned from experience” to act this way, or that your character had “unconscious motivations” that caused him/her to say something in particular.

I’ve also attached a sample paper below. the paper needs to look some what like this. Font 12, double spaced, and citated

5 page paper

Compare and contrast the attitudes of two cohorts of people; one that consists of five people that rarely use social media and one cohort of five people that uses social media 2 or more hours a day.

Competency

Assess the development of societal standards in relation to social media and how this can alter social norms in everyday life.

Instructions

The prevalence of social media has had a huge impact on society in the area of how we tend to relate to each other and on what is considered to be normal in general. Taking a look at the ways in which social media changes attitudes and “norms” makes for an interesting study, and one that is applicable to understanding how society is slowly changing over time.

For this assignment, you will first conduct your own research on the effects of social media on societal norms (Part 1), then you will examine what has been found through previous research conducted by others (Part 2).

Part 1:

Compare and contrast the attitudes of two cohorts of people; one that consists of five people that rarely use social media and one cohort of five people that uses social media 2 or more hours a day.

Create a list of five people that you know that use social media at least 2 or more hours per day. This group of people will make up your first cohort. Then create a list of five people that you know that either do not use social media or use it very rarely. Take into account age when creating the cohorts, and try to keep the ages as similar as possible between the cohorts. Keeping a certain level of consistency in the two cohorts will help to negate the potential effects of generational differences. Provide a brief description of each of the ten people you are going to interview divided into their respective cohorts.

In other words, list the five people in the social media at least 2 or more hours a day, and provide a brief description of each along with why you chose them. Then provide a list of the five people that rarely or never use social media, and provide a brief description of each along with why you chose them.

Interview the participants to learn the similarities and differences between the two cohorts as it relates to attitudes, lifestyles, and relationships. Write a two-page paper comparing and contrasting what you learned about the two cohorts. Be sure to relate your findings to cultivation theory and socialization theory in the paper.

Part 2:

Now you will compare your research with research findings through previous research conducted by others. Look up at least 3 articles that relate to the topic of social media and its impact on society. You are not limited to articles that are strictly written on the specific topic of social media and norms. Articles that are covering social media and society are available from a wide number of angles. After studying these articles, write a two-page paper on what you learned on the topic of social media and its potential impact on societal attitudes, customs, and norms.

Develop an action plan designed to address the legal issues and ethical dilemmas that is supported by ethical theories, principles, legal precedents and best practices.

Throughout this course we have been analyzing ethical dilemmas related to the field of Organizational/Industrial Psychology. We have studied the different types of ethics related to these dilemmas; personal, group, organizational and societal, and explored many of the trending issues as described by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

For this final assignment, you will be analyzing the Gulf Oil spill that happened in 2010 year. This case study ties in the material we have learned in previous sections through the individual ethics lessons, group (leadership/followership) ethics, and now, organizational ethics.
