For    this    paper    you will    write    a    formal    research    paper    introduction    (including    proper citations), a methods section, and a references section.
Introduction: Begin to write down questions based on the topic, contraception. Those help to guide your introduction composition. When you answer a question    by finding    an appropriate    reference    (*), you will use an in-text citation to note the source as you write your own original composition of the    information. Make sure to use your own words, and quotations only sparingly.
– Funnel shaped, from broad concepts towards specific questions that will be addressed by the research.
-*In-text citations that are appropriate for investigating the concepts should    include 2 review papers, and 2 empirical research articles.
-Introduction should be 3-5 paragraphs, composed in a    professional and impartial manner.
-Introduction should include why this research is important, how it has    never been covered before,    what will specifically be investigated, where/when the research will be    conducted. The reason for your choices should be clear.    Make sure to include a thorough background.
– The funnel shape of the introduction should    lead    to a specific hypothesis being    addressed by the researcher
Methods: You    will create a real methods section for an    empirical    research article. The best way    to do this    is to start composing it on your own, and then begin reading other articles. From    them you    will    get    ideas about what could be added to your methods section. You will create a 10-20 question survey to investigate an area of interest. Think about when/where/how/why of the research, to make sure    that    your    questions are    answered. Also think about how/when/where/who you want to ask the questions. Make sure to have at least 3 types of questions (ex: not all questions an be rating scales from 1-5). Make sure to include N/A and “Other” answer choices only where appropriate.
-Clearly formatted like a research article methods    section, including scientific tone.
-Subjects, sample size, age, demographics, randomization,    statistical    methods,    software/hardware used, blind/double blind methods, anonymizing subjects
-Does the section lead reader    through how the research will    be conducted,    and clarify all set up to the degree that someone else could replicated
-A survey    will be included in this section, with all answer choices shown. Does the researcher consider all possible answers? Can the data be analyzed the way it was collected and answered? Are the questions all one type    of answer, or are multiple answers, drop down menus, essay or short answer questions, rating scales, etc included? The survey is composed of clear    questions that can’t    be interpreted    as a    different question.
-What type of statistical analysis will be used? Will you calculate a percentage of responses and    use a pie    chart?
