Conditional Probability

Hello Class and Professor,

One of the problems I was working on and decided to share this week is “Conditional Probability.” Conditional probability is the probability of one event occurring with some relationship to one or more other events. For instance, event A is that it is raining outside, and it has a 30% (0.3) chance of raining today. Event B is that you will need to go out, and that has a probability of 50% (0.5). A conditional probability in the real world would look like these two events in relationship with one another, as the likelihood that it is both raining and you will need to go outside. Generally, our beliefs about uncertain events can change when we get new information, so conditional probability provides a way for us to say how our opinions vary. Also, we make many judgments every day, based on uncertainty. For instance, we make decisions about the weather based on information from the weather report, how it looks outside, and advice from friends. Conditional probability is simply a way of quantifying our beliefs about uncertain events given information. Thanks for allowing me to share.

    • Then, research and document their potential learning needs and health promotion goals.
