Assignment 8 – Organizational Diagnosis Applied Project: Part 2

Part 2 should include a Six Box Organizational Model analysis. Each student will submit a written paper documenting their analysis of the selected organization from each of the six boxes by first describing the causes (using data or examples) and what can be done (using relevant theories and concepts) to enhance organizational performance. Each of the six boxes must include two theories, concepts, or practices from the textbook. The requirements for the paper are as follows:
As students analyze and evaluate the outcomes, processes, and polices of the six boxes, care should be taken to explain what went well and represented best practices and devote attention to areas needing improvement and lessons learned. An advanced paper will present strategies for improvement and/or enhancement of success. Assure these strategies are supported with critical analytical reasoning.
The final paper should be written in APA style and be between 8 – 10 double-spaced pages in length including the appendix. A one-page executive summary and a table of contents should be included. A minimum of four scholarly resources must be used. Theories, concepts, or practices must be cited and identified in bold or italics. The paper should make use of supplemental materials/visuals such as graphs, process flow diagrams, organizational charts, and any survey results to compliment the narrative analysis.

BSG Discussion

For this weeks discussion, select a potential ethical challenge that you, as a manager of an athletic shoe company, might face in the manufacture, distribution, promotion and/or sale of your products. Keep in mind that many of you have chosen to produce and sell your shoes in foreign markets (e.g. Asia/Pacific, Latin America, Europe/Africa).

Once youve identified a potential ethical challenge (e.g. the use of child labor), describe how each type of manager (moral, amoral and immoral) might respond when faced with the challenge youve selected.

Extinction Side-Effects

Extinction Side-Effects

Extinction is a procedure that allows us to decrease or completely remove behaviors by withholding reinforcement. This procedure can be extremely effective; however, it is important to consider the potential side effects before deciding if this is the right approach for any behavior.

Describe the side effects of extinction.
Explain how these side effects may be beneficial or problematic to one’s life.
Justify your explanation.

Prompt

The Bible is Gods communication to us and therefore should be the example of how we communicate through others. Read Pauls letters to Timothy (I Timothy and II Timothy) and answer the following questions using textbook theories, concepts, or practices.  What where the components of the communication process (sender, encoding, message, decoding, receiver, feedback, and noise) noted in the two letters to Timothy? Provide specific examples. Although the letters to Timothy are in written format, were all the components (The Six Ss) of a successful presentation present?  Give specific examples of each.  What were the three different things that Paul was trying to communicate to Timothy? Was Paul successful?  Be specific and explain why or why not.
