please watch: https://vimeo.com/419676868
After watching the lecture video, imagine the following situation. You are chatting with a friend toward the end
of the term. Your friend tells you that they’ve earned an AB in one of their courses, but they’re only 1 point (or
1%) away from earning an A. Your friend asks for your advice as to whether they should contact their professor
and ask their professor for a grade bump of 1 point (or 1%).
Write a hypothetical email, of at least 200 words, to your friend answering their question about whether they
should contact their professor to ask for a grade bump.
Begin your hypothetical email with “Dear Friend,”
Explain to your friend the difference between a continuous measurement and a discrete measurement.
Give your friend an example, from the lecture video, of a continuous measurement becoming discrete; and
Based on all you have learned about the challenges of continuous measurements becoming discrete, advise
your friend whether to ask for a grade bump.

Advertising Perception

As consumers we are bombarded with advertisements. Sometimes those advertisements are intentional and
sometimes they are unintentional. The messages from these advertisements vary but one thing they all have in
common is that a goal of advertisements is to persuade the consumer to make certain product selections.
During one day of the week, pay special attention to the advertisements you encounter. These advertisements
can be on television, radio, magazines, social media and Internet or, billboards. Reflect on the advertisements
you saw during your day. Site 5 specific advertisements and discuss them including your perception of those
advertisements. What were they trying to accomplish? Were they subliminal in nature?
Your work should be at least 500 words and draw from your own personal thoughts and ideas. This journal
entry should be written in first person and if you use information from the textbook or lecture be sure to cite
your sources.

  1. Predict whether compound A will provide compound C or compound D if treated with NaOCH3 in methanol in an E2 reaction and briefly explain the reason for your choice. 2. Predict whether compound B will provide compound C or compound D if treated with NaOCH3 in methanol in an E2 reaction and briefly explain the reason for your choice. 3. Predict whether compound A or compound B will undergo E2 reaction at the faster rate and briefly explain your answer. To answer all parts of this question you will need to consider the two ring-flip conformers for A and for B and which of the two ring-flip conformers will be more abundant for A and for B. I have drawn them minus the bromine, so you would need to redraw them and place I-1 and Br at the asterisked carbons into the correct axial/equatorial sites.
