Collecting evidence-based practices is one thing, but collecting results from the outcomes is different. For example, evaluating how our practice affects pts is measured differently I think.

4-Clinical significance refers to that ability displayed by a treatment to enable a patient return to his or healthy state of body functioning. However, it differs from statistical significance in a sense that it is more objective i.e. it determines whether the prescribed treatment was able to achieve the intended purpose (Sedgwick, 2014). Statistical significance, though a determinant that was only used sometimes back is expressed as a variable meaning that it is never exact on whether the treatment recommended is going to restore a patient’s normality. It operates on the principle of probability.

The ultimate aim of the evidence-based practice project is to bring forth positive outcome. Incorporation of clinical significance can prove to be of great help in achieving this. Carrying out a clinical interpretation in the entire research process will be fundamental in ensuring that patient’s safety, as well as efficacy need, is put into consideration when it comes to decisions made. This will significantly enhance positive outcomes of the research work.

A critical evaluation of the research project by clinicians so as to qualify internal as well as external validity will trigger positive results. The employment of all these aspects of clinical significance will see to it that Evidence-based practice project becomes not only meaningful but also helpful to those seeking medical solutions to their unhealthy conditions.

5-According to my memory about statistics, statistical significance is a result that is not attributed to chance. Meaning that the null hypothesis is true. Using p-value of less than 0.05 shows the rejection of the null hypothesis- a significant difference exists.

“Clinical significance is the practical importance of the treatment effect, whether it has a real, palpable, noticeable effect on daily life (Leyva De Los Rios, 2017).” It is the difference in patient care outcome.

We can use statistical significance in results for evidence-based practice. Then use the clinical significance to improve the patient care outcome. Collecting articles showing a significant difference in positive outcomes of care will be supporting evidence for the proposed project for a change of practice.

6-understanding the statistics is very important in nursing. Learning how to measure outcomes in clinical practice is important. Collecting evidence-based practices is one thing, but collecting results from the outcomes is different. For example, evaluating how our practice affects pts is measured differently I think. We would have to create charts to show the improvement, right? Did your co-workers do a project like this yet?

Affordable Health Care Costs

One of the most pressing issues in health care is how to develop policies that make the cost of health care affordable to the citizens. The major issues when devising health care costs is the quality of health care, make health care accessible to more people, and ensure that the health providers receive benefits from their professional commitment. The logistics, in this case, is how to coordinate the different players in the health care system. These players include health care providers, insurance, and the government. Thus, health care providers have to develop mechanisms that ensure that they provide an affordable health care program that is cost-effective. The main approach that health care providers should ensure that they develop internal control systems that minimize costs (Hussey & Kennedy, 2016). For instance, they can hire young nurses who require lower wage rates in order to reduce the overall labor costs that are inadvertently passed over to the patients (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). In addition, to ensure that they minimize costs for the citizens they can minimize repetitive procedures that end up incurring unnecessary costs on the patients. Further, the adaption of technology can help in the data management of the population to provide health-related services and to provide preventive mechanisms to ailments.

The health insurance providers, on the other hand, have to be involved in the development of healthcare policies such as Medicaid and other policies that have been developed in the past. The development of these policies should be geared to improve the medical welfare of the citizens rather than the capitalistic approach of profit maximization. This concept should accommodate as many as all to ensure that every working-class individual has access to the health care covers (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). The significance of health care covers is to ensure that health care programs are affordable to a large population. In addition, it is aimed to minimize the immediate cost burden that the patients may find too huge to settle within a given time period.

The government acting as the health care regulator should ensure that health care products are available, as well as a sufficient health care workforce. To facilitate this, the government has to increase its health care spending and financing. To help the nursing informatics to develop new solutions and to be effective in health care delivery, the government can train the different health workers in nursing and health care fields at subsidized costs (Berg & Dickow, 2014). Further, it can subsidize the costs of health care products such as medicine to ensure that they are available.

In conclusion, the health care system can achieve affordable health care to all citizens by using a multi-faceted approach that includes all partners. Also, the issue of cost minimization while optimizing on results is key to achieving the desired ends of economics and strategy in health care. The significance of dealing with affordable health care in nursing informatics is to ensure that citizens have access to quality health care.

: Identify the aggregate or vulnerable populations that you observed in your community during your drive through. What did you observe about this population?

The purpose of this assignment is to complete a direct observational assessment of a community in your area. This windshield survey will help you to identify a vulnerable population, an important community health problem, and a related Healthy People 2020objective for a community in your area.

Course Outcomes

This assignment enables the student to meet the following Course Outcomes.

  • CO2: Assess the health needs of individuals, families, aggregates, and communities using demographic and epidemiological data to identify population health risks. (PO4)
  • CO6: Utilize a systems-based and collaborative approach to address factors that influence the health of a community and population health problems. (PO2)

  1. Introduction to the Community: Identify the community you will be using for this assignment with the city and state, and provide a brief, one-paragraph description of the community. Your community should be the area where you live or the area surrounding your work setting. The community must include a residential area and be a large enough area to answer the survey questions. Do not include epidemiological or demographic data as this is based on what you observe.
  2. Windshield Survey: Assess your community by doing a windshield survey. Information about the components of a windshield survey is located in your textbook, Nies and McEwen (2019). Drive through the area and report your observations by answering the questions on the form. Be sure to include what you observed related to each of these categories, and also include any significant items that are missing in your community because this may be equally important in identifying a community health problem.
    1. Community vitality
    2. Indicators of social and economic conditions
    3. Health resources
    4. Environmental conditions related to health
    5. Social functioning
    6. Attitude toward healthcare
    7. Note: It is helpful to conduct this assessment at least two different times: during the day or evening, on a weekday, and/or on the weekend. If possible, plan on asking someone to drive during your survey so that you can take notes.
  3. Vulnerable population: Identify the aggregate or vulnerable populations that you observed in your community during your drive through. What did you observe about this population?
  4. Community problem: Based on your assessment in the survey above, identify and discuss one priority community health problem that a community health nurse could positively impact.Example: If you observed teens who were pregnant or had young children during your survey and felt this was a priority problem in your community, the diagnosis could be
Risk of unintended pregnancy among adolescent girls in XXXX community as evidence by observation of pregnant teens and teens caring for young children during windshield survey.
  5. Healthy People 2020 Objective: Go to the Healthy People topic areas at https://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topics-objectives. Find a topic area that relates to one of the vulnerable populations you observed. Click on the topic area, and then click on the green Objectives tab. Review the objectives within that topic area to complete the relevant sections of the form. State the Healthy People 2020 objective number (not just a goal) that describes your problem.Example: The topic area Family Planning would be relevant. You would click on Family Planning, and then click the green Objectives tab, and you might choose
FP-8.1 “Reduce pregnancies among adolescent females aged 15 to 17 years” (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Healthy People 2020, 2018, Objectives: Family Planning, para 8).
  6. Summary: Complete the summary of learning section.
  7. References: The purpose of this assignment is to document your observations of your community. Outside sources other than Healthy People 2020 should not be used. We have included this reference on the Windshield Survey form for you.

Discuss why understanding the learning styles of individuals participating in health promotion is important to achieving the desired outcome.

Learning styles represent the different approaches to learning based on preferences, weaknesses, and strengths. For learners to best achieve the desired educational outcome, learning styles must be considered when creating a plan. Complete “The VARK Questionnaire,” located on the VARK website, and then complete the following:

  1. Click “OK” to receive your questionnaire scores.
  2. Once you have determined your preferred learning style, review the corresponding link to view your learning preference.
  3. Review the other learning styles: visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic, and multimodal (listed on the VARK Questionnaire Results page).
  4. Compare your current preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies for your preferred learning style.
  5. Examine how awareness of learning styles has influenced your perceptions of teaching and learning.

In a paper (750-1,000 words), summarize your analysis of this exercise and discuss the overall value of learning styles. Include the following:

  1. Provide a summary of your learning style according the VARK questionnaire.
  2. Describe your preferred learning strategies. Compare your current preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies for your preferred learning style.
  3. Describe how individual learning styles affect the degree to which a learner can understand or perform educational activities. Discuss the importance of an educator identifying individual learning styles and preferences when working with learners.
  4. Discuss why understanding the learning styles of individuals participating in health promotion is important to achieving the desired outcome. How do learning styles ultimately affect the possibility for a behavioral change? How would different learning styles be accommodated in health promotion?
