write a paper (2,000-2,250 words) that synthesizes all of the articles assigned in the Modules 5-7 of this course. Do that by including the following:

Details:

Synthesis is the act of creating something new from multiple existing entities. Synthesis of research, then, is creating a new idea from existing ideas. It is a process developed through time and practice. In this assignment, you will apply the synthesis process to the journal readings from modules 5-7. Keep in mind that Several of Freud’s early colleagues and supporters splintered away from his model for different reasons.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

  • Refer to the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 6 assignment along with any feedback from your instructor.
  • Review the journal readings from Modules 5 and 6 of this course. You may wish to create annotations for the readings from Module 7 for use in the synthesis process.
  • This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
  • Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
  • You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Directions:

Locate the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 6 assignment. Using the outline you developed, the information from the annotated bibliography, and the feedback provided by your instructor, write a paper (2,000-2,250 words) that synthesizes all of the articles assigned in the Modules 5-7 of this course. Do that by including the following:

  1. A statement of common themes addressed in each of the articles.
  2. A statement of the conclusions that can be drawn when the articles are taken together as a single entity. What is the overall message of the group of articles? Focus specifically on the key aspects of Freudian thought which caused these other theorists to distance themselves from Freud’s views and influence. Consider also the major differences among themselves which caused them to diverge from one another.

Describe any symptoms or behaviors that are inconsistent with the diagnosis.

Assignment 2: Diagnostic Case Reports

Click here to go to the Faces of Abnormal Psychology website. There, you will see twelve different disorders listed. For this module, view the following disorders:

  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Substance Use

After clicking a disorder, click the Diagnostic Overview tab in the left column. This will cover the major diagnostic features of the disorder. After that, click the DSM-5Features tab. You can then go though the Case History, Interview, and Treatment sections on the website. Finally, in the Assessment section, you can complete an optional multiple-choice quiz. You have to write a case report for each case study. You should use the format provided on the web page. There is a sample report that you can also view by clicking the link in the upper-right corner.

The format for the sample report is as follows:

Class/Section Number

Background

  • Outline the major symptoms of this disorder.
  • Briefly outline the client’s background (age, race, occupations, etc.).
  • Describe any factors in the client’s background that might predispose him or her to this disorder.

Observations

  • Describe any symptoms that you have observed that support the diagnosis. You can include direct quotes or behaviors that you may have observed.
  • Describe any symptoms or behaviors that are inconsistent with the diagnosis.
  • Provide any information that you have about the development of this disorder.

Diagnosis

  • Did you observe any evidence of general medical conditions that might contribute to the development of this disorder?
  • Did you observe any evidence of psychosocial and environmental problems that might contribute to this disorder?
  • As per your observations, what is the client’s overall level of safety regarding the potential harm to self or others (suicidality or homicidality)?
  • What cross-cultural issues, if any, affect the differential diagnosis?

Therapeutic Intervention

  • In your opinion, what are the appropriate short-term goals of this intervention?
  • In your opinion, what are the appropriate long-term goals of this intervention?

Explain why you picked the different culture that you are researching. How do you interact with that culture on a regular basis?

Using the Argosy University online library resources and the Internet, research the differences in culture and nonverbal communication. Every culture has a different understanding of what is appropriate nonverbal communication. In the United States, eye contact is a sign of attention or respect. In other cultures, eye contact is seen as rude and disrespectful. In this assignment, you will compare and contrast how a different culture you interact with in your daily life may interpret nonverbal communication differently than what is “culturally acceptable” in the United States. Make sure to take into account nonverbal gestures such as appearance, tone, space, eye contact, gestures, etc.

Based on your research and your personal experience, answer the following questions:

  • Explain why you picked the different culture that you are researching. How do you interact with that culture on a regular basis?
  • Compare and contrast the different cultures. Describe the similarities and differences in the way they both nonverbally communicate.
  • As the world becomes more global and cultures intersect, describe and analyze at least two ways you can use your findings in your daily life to help you be a more culturally competent communicator.

Write a 2- to 3-page paper in Word format (not counting title and reference pages). Apply APA standards for writing style to your work. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.doc.

By Tuesday, February 28, 2017, deliver your assignment to the M2: Assignment 2 Dropbox.

All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.

•Summarize this information and present a recommendation for the use of the RTI model, nationally standardized diagnostic tests, locally normed CBM, and intelligence and academic achievement tests, and their role in monitoring educational progress and identification of a learning disability.

In this unit, you read about changes over time in the procedures for evaluating SLDs. Recently, most states changed their existing rules and regulations to include a RTI model, which identifies three levels of intervention or teaching to facilitate learning for all students. Subsequently, it became important to determine tests or assessments, which would provide monitoring or progress within each level of instructional intervention. However, this model for teaching has now been utilized as a method for identifying students as having a learning disability. You were also introduced to a number of diagnostic measures for monitoring progress, which included nationally standardized tests, as well as locally normed standardized measurement procedures called CBM. In addition, the authors of your Psychological Testing and Assessment text presented several questions or concerns regarding the use of diagnostic tests when working with individuals suspected as having a learning disability.

Based on your unit readings, complete the following for this discussion:

•Outline the concerns that may exist with using an RTI model when identifying students suspected as having a learning disability.

•Identify some of the limitations or concerns that may result from using diagnostic tests (both nationally standardized and CBM) when working with all students, as well as students suspected as having a learning disability.

•Identify some of the strengths in using these tests or measurements for progress monitoring.

•Summarize this information and present a recommendation for the use of the RTI model, nationally standardized diagnostic tests, locally normed CBM, and intelligence and academic achievement tests, and their role in monitoring educational progress and identification of a learning disability.

Your third course assignment, Evaluation of Test Materials and Procedures, is due by the end of this unit. This assignment includes searching through reviews of your selected test in Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY) database from Buros, publisher Web sites, and articles in peer-reviewed journals for information about the test’s item format, and fairness and appropriateness of test materials. You may find it helpful to include keyword searches in your reviews of documents for these topics; that is, conduct a search in your document for keywords such as format, fair, and appropriate.

For this discussion, however, you will only be required to provide your initial findings regarding any information about the fairness or appropriateness of your selected test. This content may include information you discovered about possible modifications, accommodations, alternate formats, language formats or considerations, et cetera. You are not required to report on all these elements but just on any element that you can identify in your research on your selected test. Many times, you may find this information in one or more review in the MMY.

Include any difficulties you may be experiencing with searching for information in Buros MMY, publisher Web sites, or peer-reviewed journal articles regarding this content.
