Describe how the group will obtain a random sample of participants.

Each CLC team will design a quasi or a true experimental study, investigating the impact of the independent variable on the dependent variable.

Address the following in 500-750 words:

  1. Design either a quasi or experimental study to investigate the variables. What is the hypothesis? Describe the types of hypotheses with respect to testing. What does the experimental method allow that the correlation design does not?
  2. Identify the independent variable. Identify the dependent variable.
  3. Describe how the group will define operationally and measure the variables.
  4. Describe how the group will obtain a random sample of participants.
  5. Discuss how the group will ensure the study has high internal validity. Will the subjects be assigned randomly to the groups? Why or why not.
  6. Are there any ethical concerns about the treatment of participants emerging from the experiment?
  7. Consider the data presented, would you use t or F score? Why? include the appropriate effect size.
  8. Submit an SPSS output for the quasi or true experimental study.

Include at least two to four scholarly sources.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

a. Summarize the historical context of the research, including historical figures related to the research. iii. Validity and Accuracy

In the previous journal assignment, you planned how to evaluate the research for your selected theories. This journal reflection delves deeper into the various sources you are evaluating for the final project.

In your journal assignment, address the following:

Reflect on how the sources you found support or contradict your selected theory. Do your sources meet your evaluation criteria? Why or why not?

Are you able to locate at least one primary source for this theory?

Summarize the research source’s historical context, the research method, and how you located the research source.

What is the historical context?

What research method is used?

Where are you locating your sources?

Identify any other questions you have for the instructor at this point.

Overview: The purpose of the Research Table document is to help you organize the research that you conduct for your final project. The first portion of the document is an annotated bibliography. Here you will keep notes on the various research materials that you read while researching your final project. The second portion of this document is a chart that you can use to take notes on key theories related to the theories you encounter during the course. Your first entry in your table was related to Freud’s theory. This practice will allow you to receive meaningful feedback on your use of this tool to help you support your final project.

Prompt: For this assignment, complete rows of the annotated bibliography section of the table with research you encounter during the course. Use research you have identified related to the final project’s selected theory. Note how the research is related to your selected theory for the final project. How relevant is the research? How does the research compare to or contrast with the final project theory? You will use this information as you complete the milestone assignments and the final project. Incorporate the feedback you receive from this assignment as you continuing working on the table. Incorporate the feedback you receive from this assignment as you continue to add additional research to the table.

Part One: Annotated Bibliography

  1. Citation: Use APA formatting for your citations.
  2. Summary and applicability to the final project

a. Not all sources you encounter in your research will be applicable to the final paper, so it is a good idea to note the relation the theory does or

does not have. You may come back to a source at a later time as you gain more insight about the different theories, so note all the different

research you encounter for easy retrieval. iii. Additional Notes

Part Two: Theory Charti. Key Concepts

a. Identify the key concepts of the research. ii. Historical Context and Historical Figures

a. Summarize the historical context of the research, including historical figures related to the research. iii. Validity and Accuracy

a. Part 1 of the textbook explains these terms to help you further evaluate the theory based on validity and accuracy. Use this information to evaluate the validity and accuracy of the research.

iv. Applicability of Theory Today
a. Identify the contemporary application of each theory.

v. Theory’s Relationship to the Final Project

  1. Does the new theory support or contrast with the theory evaluated in the final project?
  2. What key concepts are important for the comparison to the final project?
  3. Is there a strong or weak relation to the theory evaluated in the final project?

Post a description of one event or activity when individuals or groups benefited from using digital technologies for positive social change. Include at least one scholarly source. Use proper APA format and citations

Digital technology pervades people’s lives today. It is part of education, entertainment, transportation, medicine, and many other industries. How might it be used to positively impact social change?

In this Discussion, you explore an event or activity that illustrates positive influences that digital technology has had on social change.

To Prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources and consider the role of digital technology in supporting individuals and groups for positive social change

By Day 4

Post a description of one event or activity when individuals or groups benefited from using digital technologies for positive social change. Include at least one scholarly source. Use proper APA format and citations.

Describe other criteria you will use in your      evaluation of personality psychology research as you work through this      course.

1.) This discussion will focus on the following research methods used in personality psychology:

  • Correlational studies
  • Experimental studies
  • Case methods

Imagine your team is applying for a grant to conduct a major study in personality psychology. Before getting into the specifics of the study, the team leader has asked each team member to discuss one of the different research methods available in personality psychology. You will be assigned a research method based on the first letter of your last name.
Your initial post will describe the assigned research method and how it is implemented. Discuss how personality researchers use the method and also discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the research method assigned. Be sure to mention the appropriate applications of the method you are describing. The overall goal here is to inform the team about the appropriate use of your research method as well as its strengths and weaknesses. Your instructor may reassign research methods as needed for this discussion, so check the announcements for any reassignments.

Topic will be Case Study Research Methods

2.) This assignment will help you think critically about locating and evaluating research. This journal is a place for you to plan how you will evaluate different theories in personality psychology. As you begin to concentrate on a specific theorist from the project theorist options, this journal will provide a research foundation for your final project.
Include the following in your journal:

  • Reflect on how you will evaluate primary sources      differently from secondary sources. Why would you evaluate them      differently?
  • Identify the research methods that are used and      how they will impact your research.
  • Describe other criteria you will use in your      evaluation of personality psychology research as you work through this      course.

Guidelines for Submission: Your journal assignment should be 2 to 3 paragraphs in length and any sources used should be cited in APA format. Submit the assignment as a Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins.

3.) Research forms the foundation for the field of developmental psychology, and given the complexity of the human experience throughout the life span, the methods chosen for conducting research are key to producing valid and reliable data. In your initial post, locate a journal article that reports original research in the field of childhood and adolescent developmental psychology (topics to research can be located throughout the text, and you should consider what may be an area of interest for your final project). Utilizing your selected journal article, describe the experimental design utilized by the authors in detail, and link to the journal article and provide citation information in your initial post. Different types of research include:

  • Cross-cultural studies
  • Cross-sectional design
  • Longitudinal design
  • Sequential design
  • Micro genetic design

Compose a post of one to two paragraphs. Reference scholarly or peer-reviewed sources to support your discussion points, as appropriate (using proper citation methods for your discipline).
