Requirements In completing this assessed work you must read the articles and book chapters presented to you in lectures and available on Moodle as this will assist with the development of your thinking around these subjects. The assessment for this module is a portfolio of three different elements: 1. An ESSAY – Title: What was the significance of the Albemarle report for the development of youth work? (2,000 words) 2. Two pieces of reflective writing on topics covered in the module content (750 words each) ? Topic A: Choose a one of the ethical principles of youth work, as outlined in ?Ethical Conduct in Youth Work? statement, NYA (2004) and discuss why it is important to work with young people (750words) ? Topic B: choose one aspect of the ?Positive for Youth? policy (2011) and explain what impact it might have on young people (750words) Remember you must support your views with evidence and references to the views of key writers in this field, national and local government policies and strategy documents. You should also make links to the history of Youth and Community Work and principles of informal and non formal education. Presentation of module work Your module work should be word-processed and should conform to academic standards for undergraduate work e.g. 1.5 line spacing. Guidance can be found in the ?School of Education and Communities Undergraduate Handbook?. The conventions of in-text referencing and of reference lists is covered in the level one ED1000 core module Critical Reading and Writing; additional information is available on Moodle and in Pears and Shields? ?Cite Them Right? (2010).
