To complete this project you are required to select one of the following client profiles and present a range of information based on that particular disability and complex needs profile you have selected. This information can be presented in any form you choose Suggestions include; PowerPoint presentation, poster, spider diagram. brochure etc. Select one of the following profiles: • Client with Parkinson s disease, an intellectual disability and Crohn’s disease • Indigenous client with bipolar affective disorder. substance abuse and intergenerational trauma • Younger client with an acquired brain injury and alcohol abuse, in unsuitable housing • Older client with recently diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease and visual and hearing impairment The information you must research and include in your project is: • Research some of the physiology and psychology as it applies to that profile • Provide information about the nutrition and dietetics as it applies to that profile • Identify some of the common issues and challenges facing people with that profile • Identify some of the common health problems as well as the possible presentation of particular behavioural issues that may be associated with that profile • Describe some of the formal and informal assessment approaches used for people with complex and/or special needs • Include useful websites that provide additional information about the disability and complex needs.
