Take into consideration where your athletes are physically, emotionally, athletically, and sport-specific skills when they come to you. How will you work to move underdeveloped athletes up to the same level as the rest of the team? How will you identify under-developed traits within an athlete so that those weaknesses don’t hold the athlete back in the future? How do parents address realistic expectations for their child’s LTAD?
Furthermore, consider where you want them to go when they finish your program. How do you address athletes that may have the skills and talent to move on to the next level and mix them in a cohesive team environment with athletes that may not move on as an athlete?
