Students will write a 3-5 page paper that examines a public financial management topic from the perspective of social equity. Any of the topics we cover this semester are appropriate to explore the relationship between public financial management and social equity. For example, you may choose to research long-term finance, in particular municipal bonds or capital appreciation bonds, and their relationship to social equity. Alternatively, you may decide to further explore intergovernmental fiscal relations and how social equity is impacted by decision-making at the intersection of the three levels of government. Social Equity Papers should be 3-5 pages, double-spaced and follow APA style formatting.
