Answer the following questions:

1.    To understand peoples behavior, sociologists look at their social location in society. For this assignment, you will need to identify the corners in life you occupy by describing your job, income, education, gender, age, and race-ethnicity. Explain how each of these elements influences your self-concept and behavior.  Does your social location impact you when you go out (i.e., socially or romantically)? When it comes to life chances and opportunities? Do you experience discrimination? Explain.  Then select 2 or 3 elements to change (for example, gender and race-ethnicity) and describe what differences may exist in your self-concept and behavior if you occupied this social location.

2.    Are you a member of any subcultures?  Which one(s)? What is your group’s relationship to the mainstream culture? Use any example (sports, college student, etc.
