Not completing this will have no result in your overall grade (although the system might show this as a required activity–which is not the case).Analyze Amanda Gorman’s recitation of her poem (6 min) at the Biden inauguration early the last year by using concepts and theories of linguistic anthropology including indexicality, paralinguistics, and kinesics. You may focus on either a part or the whole of the performance. You may want to analyze the ways in which, for example, her hand gestures correlate with and emphasize what she is saying at the moment. Or, you may further want to connect the emphasized contents with the sociocultural contexts in which the performance is occurring, relating, but not limited to, difficult struggles with the COVID-19, structural racism, national politics, economic crisis and the ideal of individual success in the US.
