You were also introduced to Paul Kuttner’s critique of this visual metaphor and of equality and equity approaches to oppression (Module 1 Exercise).
Discuss the concepts of equality and equity as approaches to address oppression. Are equality and equity approaches sufficient? Thinking about Kuttner’s critique, what do these approaches leave out and what kind of approach is necessary to address oppression? To illustrate, please use examples related to race and sexuality.
