You are required to select one historical event of your choosing (prior to 2010), summarize what happened, and then tell me how it informs your understanding of sustainability of capitalism as well as your conception of human nature. Because this assignment covers the history of capitalism, the event or series of events that you choose can be almost anything. The important part is that you can use your research to think about the present and future of capitalism and discuss why and how it informs your thinking about human nature. This assignment consists of two sections. For the first part of this assignment you are summarize an historical even that you draw from scholarly sources (1-2 books or 2-4 journal articles). (500 words). Please include a bibliography or work cited page. For the second part of the assignment, please analyze how the event you just summarized helps inform your understanding about capitalism today and why you think this event is important to understanding the future of capitalism and the nature of humanity.
