–When studying a specific encounter between a particular Indian people and specific European colonizer, there a number of very instructive questions that you should ask and answer:

1)What was the nature of the Indian culture? Was it pacifist, tolerant, or more aggressive militarily?  Was it organized or united as a confederacy or splintered into smaller tribes?2)What were the expectations and goals of the European colonizers?3)To what extent did disease play a role in the colonial area’s development?
