Reply to:Children are naturally high energy, but some have other problems which prevent them in being able to engage properly. ADHD makes a child sitting still is a challenge and difficulty resisting temptation (2021).  Doing homework or even sitting still long enough to eat can get a child scolded quite often. Social skills are absent with interrupting, grabbing, climbing, or speaking at the wrong times are other problems (2021).  The hope is they will grow out of it. Studies continue but believed to have the cause of genetics, exposure to toxic environmental factors such as lead (2021).  Other beliefs are from pregnant mothers drinking alcohol or smoking which can result in premature delivery with low birth rate (2021). Other views not supported are too much screen time or family problems. Medication is well known for treating ADHD but behavior therapy for both child and parents is helpful. As with any child having healthy habits of diet, exercise, and sleep is also recommended (2021).
