discussion 1 life span

The concept of life span development is relatively new. For many years, child psychology was studied, but it was understood that by the beginning of early adulthood most, if not all, of one’s important development had occurred. In other words, psychologists thought the important changes that come with age were completed by the end of adolescence. Why do you believe that psychologists now study the whole life span? How does realizing that important developments occur throughout our whole lives affect our lives in general?Next, describe the scientific methodology and typical research designs used in life span psychology (refer to your text). Which methodology and research design do you think produces the best results in the study of life span development? Why?200 words

Project Two

Your research question: Are there differences in the average agreement with gay individuals having the right to marry one another among people who were interviewed in different geographic regions of the United States?Select and report the inferential statistical test contextualized in the research question.Provide the alpha value and use it to determine the significance of your test.Report the results in APA format, including statistic value with degree of freedom, p value, and effect size.Report the values necessary to interpret the findings and identify the pattern of relationship (for example, slope for regression and means for ANOVA).Connect the statistical findings back to the research question and conceptual variables. Propose an actionable item that uses the results of your findings relevant to the research question.Provide the output from your data analysis (using the Analysis ToolPak) as a screenshot or picture.Write your analysis summary report in the space below using the criteria listed above this template.

Discussion 12

Please see attachment (video transcript)Two challenges related to studying and conducting research in criminal behavior are expressed in theoreticism and territorialism. Theoreticism is the tendency of theorists to ignore evidence that may contradict a favored theory. Similarly, territorialism is the practice of discounting evidence and arguments that are outside one’s own narrow specialty area or academic discipline. As you might gather, restricting study to a singular academic discipline may impede progress toward the understanding of any subject, criminal behavior included. Embracing the interdisciplinary nature of criminal behavior in fact makes for dynamic and interesting research.Another set of challenges emerges in criminal behavior research when it is viewed only through a purely academic or scientific lens. Criminal behavior itself involves social values, public policy, and legal issues that must be taken into account when conducting research.Given that such research into criminal behavior is carried out to illuminate its causes, meeting these challenges makes it more likely that criminal behavior will be better understood. This leads to the development of more effective steps toward prevention, reduction, and elimination of crime. For this Discussion:Review the article, “Searching for the Soul of Criminology,” focusing on challenges related to studying and researching criminal behavior.Review the course media, “Ethics and Challenges,” with Drs. Scott Duncan and Charis Kubrin. Reflect on the challenges that they discuss related to researching and studying criminal behavior, and consider how these may be addressed.Select at least two specific challenges related to studying and researching criminal behavior.Think of examples that may best represent the challenges you selected, and consider why.
