Introduction:
Capitalism is applied as the dominant system of transaction across the world. With this comes the creation of an atmosphere in which supply and demand come above the treatment of workers. Especially when referring to global supply chains, employees are consistently trafficked for a multitude of reasons. When looking at the literature of global supply chains and human trafficking there are three main foundational scholars I will be referencing to establish the main argument _______________________________________. When reviewing the literature, opinions on this issue fall into three distinct categories, the first implicates the private sector, its general practices and culture, and consumerism, the second describes the impact of government policies and the public sector, and the third suggests an important role for technology in promoting these heinous activities, albeit inadvertently.
This essay is split into 3 main points.
Point 1: Implicates that the fault of human trafficking occurring in global supply chains is being blamed upon the private sector (the supply chains themselves), its practices and culture, and consumerism.
-This is the most important section. When writing this section you have to have 3 “foundational scholars”. This means 3 prominent scholars who are writing on the topic of Global Supply Chains and Human trafficking, who are supporting the idea that the blame falls upon the supply chains and consumerism.
-These foundational scholars need to have written on the topic multiple times or at least around it
– When writing this portion you should state the word “foundational scholars” when referencing them. (You don’t have to do this all the time). There can only be 3.

Point 2: The fault of human trafficking occurring in global supply chains falls upon the impact of government policies and the public sector. (inadequate laws)
-These are just other scholars, they shouldn’t be called foundational scholars. Since this section is speaking on laws try to avoid speaking about it a lot in the first section. I am going to put some helpful sources for this portion.
-There is the argument that the laws are inadequate, and then the second part is that the same laws shouldn’t be applied to each country (I have a helpful source for this as well)

Point 3: The fault of human trafficking occurring in global supply chains suggests it to be the role of technology in promoting these activities, albeit inadvertently.
-This describes how technological innovation (smart phones, social media, etc) have reached even the poorest of places (even poor people have cell phones). Although this is beneficial in that it opens opportunities for them, it also opens the door for human traffickers to get to them and use the technology to exploit them. Thus, technology is a promoter of the global supply chain (just look at amazon) but it is also promoting trafficking due to ease of access, reach and entry.
