With such rapid growth occurring, it is not surprising that the developing fetus is vulnerable to a number of different environmental influences.For this Assignment, you will examine an infant case study to determine short-term developmental outcomes.Refer to the following Case Study about Sam, a male infant:An infant male, Sam, was born to Jane and Roberto. Jane works in the city as a medical transcriptionist, but requested 12 weeks of family leave effective immediately upon Sam’s birth.Sam was born 6 weeks premature, by Cesarean delivery. His Apgar score at 1 minute was 5; after receiving oxygen, his Apgar score at 5 minutes was 8. Apart from the first few minutes after birth, Sam has not required oxygen or respiratory assistance. Because of his prematurity, Sam stayed in the hospital for 72 hours before he was discharged.Jane drank occasionally throughout the pregnancy, but reported drinking most heavily during the last trimester of her pregnancy, which was about the time Roberto got laid off from his job. There is suspicion, although not confirmed, that Sam has Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Sam is a fussy eater, requiring short and frequent feedings. However, Snow Leopard excels by providing finer support for 512-by-512 pixels icons while Windows provides support for a maximum display of 256-by-256 pixels.

Har-Even (2009) described a great feature of the Snow Leopard version- Spaces, which can be considered as virtual desktops. These virtual desktops can be used to place different applications. Such a feature is still to be seen in Windows. MAC OS X has a better-looking interface and is easier when it comes to navigation.

Franklin (2009) explained that one of the new features from Microsoft is Windows Aero. which gives a ‘glass’ view to the users. It enables the users to see the desktop which is present behind the active windows. It works when the cursor lingers over the small bar in the lower right corner of the desktop. this makes all the windows go transparent. This feature has another aspect with respect to the applications. When the user lingers over an application in the taskbar to hover over its respective thumbnail, all the other windows become transparent and the application window turns active. This glass effect is very attractive and the visual effects are impressive.

Franklin (2009) further explained that Snow Leopard also possesses a similar feature of bringing out the active windows in a prominent manner. It achieves this by clicking and holding onto a running application icon in the dock. this enables the shrunk application to become visible on the screen prominently while the rest of the screen darkens. The application tends to become prominent on the screen no matter which Space it is currently within, therefore it serves to be an effective way of jumping between different desktops. Snow Leopard offers this feature better than Windows 7 as Snow Leopard’s technique seems more integrated with the rest of the screen. Snow Leopard offers greater ease to switch between the windows. The application-centric&nbsp.tendency of the operating system gives the applications greater accessibility by putting application shortcuts on the left side of the dock.&nbsp.

The Principle of Utility According to Alican et al (276), the principle of utility s that an action or a rule is right, will lead to goodness or happiness that is high for a big number of people. If further states that the behaviors or actions are always right so long as they promote pleasure and happiness, wrong as they have a tendency of producing pain or unhappiness.

Mill et al (57) observed that Mill formulated the principle by elaborating the ethical issue’s central issue as the quest of the ultimate end or the supreme good. The design of his argument shows that the maximum happiness or the general happiness s the moral food that is ultimate.

Attfield (176) pointed out the caution Mill gives his readers that anything he produces cannot be used as a proof in the popular and also ordinary meaning of the term. The reasons he gives are that ultimate end questions are not amenable to proof directly. Anything that is good and can be proved must be done by showing their goodness.

In a real life situation principle of utility gets portrayed in a free market economy case. Some people will have an argument that the free market as the best and people should be allowed pursue the goodness where they deem it fit. However, the negative side of the argument is the many disparities that exist between poverty and wealth. Despite the all the goodness the market has done, the weak continue to suffer (Alican et al, 336).
