Historical Development Of Professional Associations

Historical Development of Professional Associations

Application: Historical Development of Professional Associations

Over the years, human services organizations have evolved to respond to the challenges in their communities. This evolution may have created dramatic changes in the organizations over time. For example, the American Society of Criminology went through various changes since its inception in 1941. It began as The National Association of College Police Training Officials with eight male members who wanted to improve police training curricula. Today, it is called the American Society of Criminology (ASC). Over time, it has gone though changes in its scope, membership, and policies. In the 1960s, the first females joined this association. This prompted the need to expand resources to serve all of its members. Looking at the history of an organization can inform you of its historical development and future direction (Adler, 1997).

To prepare for this Application, choose a professional association in your area of interest. Review this association’s website, and research its historical development. This information is typically found in the “About” section of the association’s website. In addition, search the Walden Library and Internet for additional information.

The assignment: (3–4 pages)

  • Analyze the historical development of one professional association in your area of interest. Include in your analysis:
    • Why the association was formed
    • How the association has evolved
    • How ethics have influenced the association
  • Describe the key issues you see the association facing now, and explain how you think the association will evolve based on these issues. Be specific and provide examples.

Support your Application Assignment with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list for all resources, including those in the Learning Resources for this course.

Principles Of Persuaions

An environmental organization would like to film a pro-recycling public service announcement and have brought you on as a consultant to help them better understand the principles of persuasion and how they should be applied in this PSA. As part of your presentation to the organization you will need to educate them on the principles of persuasion (using what has been learned through previous research) that will need to be applied to their PSA.

You should create a PowerPoint presentation.

In the first 4 to 6 slides of your presentation you will need to:

    • Summarize at least two previous research studies on persuasion.

    • How were the principles of persuasion studied?

    • Was the research valid? Why or why not?

  • What was learned through these studies that can be applied to the creation of the above PSA?

In your next 6 to 10 slides you will incorporate all you have learned about the art of persuasion to create your own PSA PowerPoint presentation to present to this organization that they will use to guide the filming of their video.

In this presentation you will need to:

    • Present a creative argument that will persuade the viewers of the need to recycle, which the video will be based on.

    • Use at least two primary principles of persuasion within this presentation.

  • In the final slide outline which two or more principles were used and why they were a good fit for this PSA.

Your total presentation should be a minimum of 10 to 16 slides (not including your title and reference slides). For your project you will need to be creative in the use of your graphics and fonts in addition to discussing and applying the principles of persuasion.

For this assignment, please use your text book along with additional resources from the Argosy Library.

After looking at the data and putting it through the ANOVA test; the conclusions are as follows:

There is a huge difference between the groups regarding degrees of freedom. And the use of ANOVA is essential because it is samples taken at different points and times of the same people. Probability is at zero percent because that means its directly at the mean and the f score is used to see if the null hypothesis can be rejected or fail to be rejected of its less than the critical value.
