In Part 2 of this Assignment, you apply theories or hypotheses (displacement, cultivation effects, modeling, and desensitization) about which you read this week to your selected electronic medium. You will further explore which theories or hypotheses best explain the aspects of human development you discussed in Part 1 of this Assignment.

To Prepare for this Assignment:

  • Review the theory articles found in this week’s Learning Resources and consider the impact of digital technologies on human development
  • Search the Internet and the Walden Library to find at least two articles related to your selected electronic media’s development in Week 1
  • Reflect on the Visual Timeline and the paper you developed in Week 1

For this Part 2 of your Assignment:

Write an additional 1 to 2 pages to the paper you began in Week 1. Based on the information you assembled for your paper in Week 1:

Then, imagine that you are an educator.  Describe a hypothetical incident of observed antisocial behavior (bullying, relational aggression (i.e., “mean girls”), etc.).  Interpret relevant social psychological theory and research to explain the case study you outlined, and assemble key insight from research on prosocial behavior to generate a plan for addressing this specific situation.

This  assignment focuses on vignette analysis and direct application of  course concepts to the persons and situations presented in the vignette  for each question. All discussions must take into account the legal  and ethical considerations, as well as issues of culture and human  diversity that may pertain to the situations presented below.

John,  a 28 year old, Hispanic male, is seen in an initial interview at a  community mental health clinic. He has been diagnosed as Chronically  Mentally Ill. Portillo Elementary school is a charter school that caters to ‘gifted’ students. On Monday morning, faculty and students came to school to hear the news that an instructor died in a vehicle accident over the weekend. Several instructors and students immediately became tearful upon hearing the news.

Upon reading the case scenario, write a 750-1,000-word paper, which includes the following:
