Activity Description

There are several health care delivery systems in the United States. In order to better understand the effect of managed health care, compare and contrast traditional health/medical delivery systems with managed health care systems. Imagine you are a leader in the health care sector and you are presenting a new health care system to the senior leadership team. You plan to propose a new health care delivery system appropriate for your existing managed health care system, and you are seeking their feedback and approval.

Design a PowerPoint presentation that explains the differences between a managed care system and the traditional health/medical delivery system. Conclude the presentation by proposing the appropriate one, focusing on factors affecting the successful delivery of medical services.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Support your presentation with at least five resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.

During each week of the course, you have covered various issues and trends associated with the U.S. health care system. For your Final Paper, you will apply the knowledge that you have gained throughout the course and the program of study by analyzing key health policy issues from the perspective of major stakeholders in the U.S. health care system.

The U.S. health care system has been shaped by numerous policies that have been established over a long period. Utilize at least five scholarly sources, including a minimum of three from the Ashford University Library. In an eight- to ten-page paper address the following:

  1. Describe general policy making viewpoints that exist today on each of the following health care issues:
    1. Access to Care
    2. Cost of Care
    3. Quality of Care
  2. Analyze the roles of the five major stakeholder groups or subgroups listed below in influencing health care policy formulation relative to the following issues: access to care, cost of care, and quality of care. Support and justify your ideas with appropriate research. Based on your research, explain the general position or stance of each group or subgroup as it relates to each of the listed issues (access to care, cost of care, and quality of care).
