After reading the Topic 1 materials, complete the questionnaire titled, “My Nursing Ethic.”

Using the reading and the questionnaire, write a paper of 750-1,000 words in which you describe your professional moral compass. As you write your paper, include the following:

  1. What personal, cultural, and spiritual values contribute to your worldview and philosophy of nursing? How do these values shape or influence your nursing practice?
  2. Define values, morals, and ethics in the context of your obligation to nursing practice. Explain how your personal values, philosophy, and worldview may conflict with your obligation to practice, creating an ethical dilemma.
  3. Reflect and share your own personal thoughts regarding the morals and ethical dilemmas you may face in the health care field. How do your personal views affect your behavior and your decision making?

Do not be concerned with the use of ethical terminology for this paper.

For this assignment, you will research an advanced nursing practice role and summarize your findings in a 3- to 5-page paper (excluding the title page and references):
Focusing on the specialty for which you were admitted to South University, select an advanced nursing role to research. (Adult advance Nurse Practitioner)
1.Distinguish the role as clinical or non-clinical and how it promotes patient outcomes, ie safety, access to health care or health information relative to the ANP level
2.Apply an Advance Nursing Practice Concept to your chosen role
3. Develop a minimum of ten questions that you would like to ask the advance practice clinician or non-clinician that you have chosen to interview. Identify in the paper the individual by name, credentials, position and your planned date for the interview (Interview is due Week 3)
4.Support your findings with at least two research articles (study, design, sample and results must be discussed). Other peer reviewed articles that are non-research and nursing organization websites may be used. All articles must be current (not more than five years old, unless it is a hallmark reference; ieAmerican Association of College of Nursing. (2010)).

Assignment Criteria:

For this assignment, develop a scholarly paper that addresses the following criteria:

  1. Compare and contrast qualitative and quantitative research designs.
  2. Critique the selected article using section one (1), a-n of the ANA Framework for How to Read and Critique a Research Study posted in the Weekly Guide/Week 7-SEE ATTACHED
  3. Provide rationale for the responses to the questions supporting the conclusions about the chosen article.
  4. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.
  5. Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, supporting paragraphs, a conclusion, and a reference page.
  6. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’).
  7. The scholarly paper should be five to six pages excluding the title and reference pages.
  8. Include a minimum of five (5) references from professional peer-reviewed nursing journals to support the paper. One reference may be the textbook. References should be from scholarly peer-reviewed journals (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five (5) years old.

Role and Setting

In Week 5, the Final Project will synthesize what you have discovered about the different advanced practice roles and scope of practice found in the master of nursing curriculum: NP, nurse educator, nurse informaticist, and nurse administrator. You will review all roles and then examine the specialty for which you were admitted, focusing on the scope of practice, core competencies, certification requirements, and legal aspects of practice for that specific role. In Week 1, you will focus on Role and Setting.

·         The articles must be current (not more than five years old).

·         Format your paper, citations, and references using correct APA Style.
