Based on the learning material presented in this final module, discuss how a social worker could help clients and communities build their social and human capital

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

Social workers are slowly realizing that improving the wellbeing of rural (and urban) clients requires a commitment to the revitalization of poor rural (and urban) communities where their clients live. Having a community development dimension to one’s practice not only involves the expansion and improvement of social and medical services, but also economic development, housing rehabilitation and/or construction, community planning and organizing, and quality of life activities such as neighborhood security, community gardens and recreation programs. Few social workers are aware of the opportunities to pursue careers in rural and urban development despite the fact that their skills are definitely applicable and needed at the community level. Based on the learning material presented in this final module, discuss how a social worker could help clients and communities build their social and human capital

Evaluate and reflect on their own ability to implement strategies to lead teams and care coordination

Case Study Report Part B
Length: 2500

Task
This part of the assessment task requires you to develop a nursing care plan for the patient in the provided case study. In order to do this, you will need to consider the role of the interdisciplinary team and registered nurse in the management of this patient.

In addition to a brief introduction and conclusion, Part B of your report should include:
A discussion of the importance of the guiding principles of self-management, empowerment and advocacy in the collaborative management of the patient and his family.
A discussion of the role of the registered nurse in the acute medical ward in the management of this patient and his family including an analysis of the ways in which the registered nurse could collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to co-ordinate the provision of comprehensive nursing care to the patient and his/her family. This may include care that may be required when patient returns home.
A nursing care plan that contains five (5) nursing interventions that would be appropriate for the patient at this stage of his presentation.
Each intervention must be supported by a rationale that explains at least one or all of the following: how it will address the underlying pathophysiology, how it is keeping with the guiding principles discussed in your report and/or how it is consistent with current best practice.
Your report must adhere to academic writing conventions. Sub-headings may be used, but dot points and tables should not be included in your report.
You should support your discussion with a MINIMUM 12 recent (LESS THAN 7 years old) and credible sources. Please note that lecture slides will not be considered to be appropriate sources for this assessment task.
PLEASE NOTE that you can and should refer to any relevant information from Part A of your report without needing to repeat it in this assessment item. For example, “as discussed previously in Part A of this report….”

Case Study for Part B

Luigi develops an ulcer on his right leg that will not heal despite oral antibiotics and becomes infected, causing cellulitis to develop over his lower right leg. He is unable to walk unaided. His diabetes remains poorly controlled due to poor understanding and compliance with his diabetic diet as his wife does all the cooking. As a result his renal function is deteriorating. He is admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics, stabilisation of his diabetes and care of his worsening leg ulcer. He is commenced on sliding scale insulin titrated to his BGLs whilst in hospital and IV Ceftriaxone. He is extremely upset that he has to remain in hospital as his son is away and his wife is home alone.

Rationale
It is known that chronic disease is the leading cause of death across the world (Johnson & Chang, 2014). Nurses need to be able to provide care to all health consumers, with a significant role in assessing a person, planning care, communicating with colleagues and ensuring that the holistic needs are met and evaluated. The ongoing nature of the conditions can result in longer term debilitating outcomes if not addressed appropriately. Children, young people, adults and older adults all experience the full range of health issues yet manage them differently.

This assessment task addresses the following subject learning outcomes:
Plan nursing care for patients with complex co-morbidities demonstrating rationale for how one affects the other.
Plan nursing care of a patient with a co-morbidity in consultation with individuals/groups significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team in the clinical setting
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide comprehensive nursing care in the clinical setting
Evaluate and reflect on their own ability to implement strategies to lead teams and care coordination

Lease Accounting

Question 1 – Lease Accounting (20 Marks)

On 30 June 2006, Salohcin Ltd entered into a non-cancellable lease with Ffoeg Ltd, for a period of 4 years. The lessor is a Manufacturer/Dealer of the leased equipment. The leased asset is a specific item of industrial machinery (Portable Enamel Drying Room) with a fair value of $349,160. The equipment has a carrying value on the books of the lessor of $280,000. The equipment is expected to have an economic life of 5 years with an expected salvage value at the end of Year 5 of $50,000. The estimated residual value at the end of the lease term is $80,000 and the terms of the lease require that the lessee guarantees $60,000 of the residual value. The lessee is required to make 4 annual payments of $120,000, due on 30 June, each year. Included in the annual lease payments is $20,000 representing payment to the lessor for expected executory costs relating to insurance and maintenance of the equipment. At the end of the lease term the asset reverts to the lessor. The lessor incurs $15,000 in initial direct costs.

The implicit interest rate in the lease is 20%. The present value of an annuity due for 4 periods at 20% is 3.106. The present value of an amount for 4 periods at 20% is .482.

REQUIRED:

  1. Explain why the lease agreement in this case would be treated as a finance lease from the perspective of the lessee; Your answer should reflect the relevant requirements in AASB117 – Leases
  2. Calculate the present value of the lease receivable at the inception of the lease
  3. Complete the Schedule of Lease Receipts for the lessor. Your answer should provide proof that the interest rate implicit in the lease is in fact 20%.
  4. Prepare the necessary journal entries for 2006, 2007, and 2010 for the lessor assuming that the lessee is not required to make the guaranteed residual payment and that the asset is returned to the lessor.
  5. Prepare the portion of the balance sheet for 2006 and 2007 for the lessor relating to the asset associated with the lease

(2 + 3 + 8 + 5 + 2 = 20 Marks)
